Odds and Ends — 29 December 2021
This battle taught me a lot about the value of Scavo Hireling.
Also, Target Practice rule set, 24 mana, and I got my butt whupped.

$50K-$200K 1 standard deviation band feels wide. Some people think this makes S2F model invalid and not useful, but is it?
— PlanB (@100trillionUSD) December 28, 2021
Last cycle S2F model average was $7K with a 1sd band of $3.5K-$14K. Not wide from current $50K perspective.
Next cycle band will be $0.5M-$2M .. useful IMO pic.twitter.com/5ODHHdHSfE
Coronavirus News, Analysis, and Opinion:
Vaccinated Unlikely to Develop Severe Omicron Symptoms
Healthy individuals who have been vaccinated, and especially those who have been boosted, appear unlikely to develop severe infections from the omicron variant that would land them in the hospital, say medical experts who have monitored the effects of the newest coronavirus variant since it was identified over four weeks ago.
I’ve seen a lot of Covid in the ER recently.

With so many people getting infected recently, some folks may wonder what’s the point of getting vaccinated at all?
And is there really any value to a booster dose if I’ve had two Pfizer/Moderna or a shot of J&J?
My observations: 🧵
Texas Running Out of Only Omicron Antibody Treatment
Texas’ health services department is warning that five of its regional infusion centers have run out of the only monoclonal antibody treatment known to be effective against the omicron variant of COVID-19, which now accounts for 90% of new cases in the state.

What Dr. Oz Says When He Thinks You Can’t Hear Him
Dr. and Mrs. Oz did not or could not hear me, and they did not realize that, rather than end the phone call, Lisa Oz had mistakenly connected her device to what sounded like the sound system of a vehicle, meaning that as they engaged in paranoid conversation and argument for more than four minutes, I remained on the line, hearing every word of it.
Oklahoma Bill Would Allow Any Parent to Ban a Book
Under Senate Bill 1142, if just one parent objects to a book it must be removed within 30 days. If it is not, the librarian must be fired and cannot work for any public school for two years. Parents can also collect at least $10,000 per day from school districts if the book is not removed as requested.
A true challenge of our time is how to deal with people who cannot accept basic facts, like the election was not stolen, there is no microchip in the vaccine, and the Earth is round.

It’s frankly exhausting. What a malfunction of the human brain.

That's what you call a combination. The Wavesmith's armor with Scavo constantly repairing it. Armorsmith was very annoying unless he was yours, some of these new Scavo's are powerful support cards.
I think the best indicator of COVID is the number of people in ICU.
Oh thanks for the upvotes recently. I put you on my hive.vote curation trail in return. I did not know you are playing Splinterlands. Any time I see life splinter I look for a speed setup formation and lean more towards magic monsters. If I had to use melee or range I would be very specific to getting high attacks and pierce ability to make sure it hits their health. Often life have these infinite loops of toughness but can easily bypass if you get to their health first.
