Discord Really Is The Center Of The Universe.
Today when the Steem chain actually EXPLODED like an over ripe tomato and everyone went into CODE RED panic mode: @tainedblood did some quick investigating work and DMed @aggroed.
It turns out you could post the whole time and there were working nodes. People have been posting all day. There was no need to ever panic.
If you loged in through cryptoempirebot.com and used a keychain with the anyx.io rpc node in preferences: You could post onto the "broken" steem-chain! That's because the whole chain is hosted by many nodes and witnesses etc.
I can see why people argue that steem chains should build DM features or off chain chats. It's a good thing we had discord today... Especially if this ever happens again but for a more extended period of time like several days or a week.

as far as I know only @gtg and @drakos were really testing on testnet
that's insane. Shouldnt that be a top witness requirement?
As I've stated many times already. Most of the top witnesses dont care about us. Not even as much (as many think) about the network (dev / security).

It's not like that.
We were I guess only witnesses that were producing on a public testnet.
There were other people involved in testing too, and that's far more than just running block producing nodes there.
In my 4-weeks old post I was trying to convince people to take an active part in testing..
