Manchester United stunned by Crystal Palace

In the third round of the premier league, every Untied fan had hoped to see a comeback from the Manchester United and Solsjkaer after failing to win against Wolves. It should have been a comfortable win for United given they were playing against a team who was yet to score a goal this season. Palace visited Old Trafford with just 1 point in hand and with no goals scored. But on another bad day for United's fan, it was Palace who came up top to win the fixture which kept palace in level with Manchester United in terms of point with 4 points. Also, it was the first win for Palace after 28 years at Old Trafford.

To analyze the overall game, United was the better team dominating the possession and also had plenty of chances to score. But United failed to convert it into goals. United was finally punished by Palace following the counter-attack. Jordan Ayew scored after going past Harry Maguire and won one on one with De Gea for the first goal. That was the first Palace's touch in United's box and also the first goal of the season for the palace.

Going down by 1-0 in the first half, United earned a penalty in the 69th minute of the second half after McTominay was taken down. With Pogba and Rashford sharing the penalty duty, it was Rashford's turn to take this time after Pogba missed it last week against Wolves which would have won the game. But Rashford who had 100% record in penalty was unlucky to hit the post although goalkeeper Guaita went the wrong way. But towards the end of the match, Martial and Rashford combined to set up for you Daniel James who bent a beautiful shot from the right corner to the goal for the equalizer.

When it seemed that, United finally was not giving away all 3 points from Old Trafford, Palace launched the attack. Zaha found Van Aanholt in around the box who only had De Gea to beat. Although De Gea positioned himself and was looking set to stop the shot, luck was not with him and United. Van Aanholt found the net past David De Gea to score the winner and end another week in disappointment and outside the top 4.
