First Tournament

I tried my first Steem Monsters tournament yesterday. Surprisingly I hadn't jumped on this yet, but figured I'd give it a go with Peakmonster's tournament.

This screenshot is from shortly after it started. I ended up getting two quick wins, so I advanced to the next round.

I lost the first match of the 2nd round.

I won the second match of the 2nd round.

And...

I lost the last match of the 2nd round.

Because I made it through the first round, I ended up getting 600 DEC as a reward though!

It was a fun experience, but it did take quite a while. I think it was around 45 minutes until I was eliminated. I'm looking forward to when they get the kinks worked out to play tournaments in a non-live fashion.

Until then, because of the time commitment, I'll likely just continue doing the daily matches. Still, I did like getting the DEC bonus for winning that first round!

Have you participated in the tournaments?

Congratulations on the DEC!

So, it sounds like you need to hang around for the tournament play versus the daily matches? Are you actually picking and choosing who you will pit against the foe yet, or is that still all pre-fight?

Been hearing a lot of positivity coming from STEEM Monster players lately, so I guess they're doing some good.

Yeah, I spent the first 15 minutes sitting and waiting for the qualifying round to finish. And then you have to wait while the other matches finish before going onto the next round.

The game figures out who you will play and then you pick teams at the same time.

I do like the changes they've been making. It makes the game more exciting to me. And the fact that I can get more Steem from the DEC makes it even more exciting for me!

Congrats @themanwithnoname that's a great start. Glad to see you playing the tournament hopefully that gives you the itch for more. Best of luck with the game and hopefully you can find your way into more of these!

Thanks! I was pretty happy to win in the first round because I had 2400 points and went against someone with 3400ish points. I considered myself fortunate to come out of it with a win.

I know I'll be in more tournaments, especially when they get it so you don't have to do it live. I don't often have that kind of time to sit around. It was cool to get more DEC though. I go through it like crazy.
