I let you cover me with a blanket of your memory, just the way it is written on your heart. Oh, the beauty of a new day. Fresh and new and we'll start all over again.


Happy #Caturday! It goes without saying that Saturday will never be replaced by beer or naught... for it has been the day of the cat, since the beginning of time. Amen.

And just because this is so eclectic (It's true!!) we are going to check out the Washington Monument today. There is so much hot air being blown around here in the Capitol lately, you can fly the flag. "Planted firmly on the high pinnacle of American faith, the gently fluttering folds are an inspiration of things that can be."If only. Le sigh.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"

A sort of SepiaSaturday shot is what you really mean. It wasn't quite sepia-ish enough but, it didn't look right in the full-blown, old fashioned sepia look. But, this was a concession. Oh, I need to get right on it and do a proper post and stop musing around. Know what I mean?

Oh!!!! How wonderful to see you!!!! It has been months and months and almost forever! You almost missed the platform drying up and dying before you returned!!! No, kidding! We can't let that happen!

So, I am going to have to go over to the continent to see what is happening in your neck of the world. I was so upset over the atmosphere in the bush and other parts of the country. Such a beautiful place and to ruin it with political unrest, and of course, I am being polite here.

Only a couple weeks to go until baby is born! We are all very excited. Yes I still have full time "morning" sickness so posting is very rare but I try. Thank you for your enthusiastic support and shared sadness over the political situation. It is grievous and alarming. But we are still very blessed in our beloved home sweet homestead - which is our haven. Have a lovely week

Oh, Wow!!! I am so excited for you! Unbelievable with the morning sickness still, although with my first I had it until the moment I gave birth. So unpleasant, but, I remember still being in awe of the miracle itself.

It is alarming for me with your political situation. In this day and age, to have these things go on, I thought we had all grown as people?

The roses are always beautiful with the morning dew on them, I agree!! We are still extremely hot here, but, I will bet in the next week or two, we will be winding down the heat.

It was a beautiful moment, being downtown and watching the sun rise on the steps fo one of the monuments. Always one of my favorite places to be.

Oh, the protests no longer bother me. I even brought my mom to one a few years back. She had never been to one and so I educated her on an abortion rally OMG. I watch my usually meek and mild mother turn into a protester LOL It was kind of funnyy and I sent the clip (it was on the news) of my mom to my day, who was home.

Anyway...

Oh my goodness, I can just picture your mom! :) She was even on the news? lol I bet your dad got quite a kick out of it. Its so neat you live so close to such an amazing place. The three times I have visited I was so overwhelmed with the rich history, just the feel of the place was unbelievable. I'll need to go back again when I have even more time to spend. Thank you!! My dad was flabbergasted that my quiet little mom held up a sign. Although she is quiet, she is very much opinionated about the issue. LOL

It is an absolutely fabulous place to live and I live far enough to not be on top of the city and close enough to jump a metro. Best of both worlds.

It is always worth a visit!

It was a beautiful day but and here are beginning to be tropical days. If I were fifty years younger I would definitely take the time to grow citrus fruits and olives in Romania.
