Booster Pack Time

I've completed a few more quests now and didn't have too difficult a time with it. While I was playing, I noticed for the first time I'm apparently locked out of the next League.

I wasn't sure why at first. I looked around for info about it and discovered that I need to power up some more before I'm allowed to move up to a new League. My power level was at 20, so in order to get it higher I needed to get more cards into my deck. I had already been thinking about what I could spend the remaining balance of Litecoins I found in my wallet last week on.
Seeing that I couldn't progress in the game until after getting more cards, I decided to spend my Litecoins on Splinterlands. I bought 5 of the Untamed packs, 1 of the Azmare dice packs, and I bought a slice of land as well.
All of this was not done in the official Shop. I bought everything a bit cheaper on Atomic Hub. The Untamed packs were around $1.60 instead of $2 and the land was $16 instead of $20.
I found out after buying that I'm apparently not eligible for airdrops since I bought it second hand. I don't know that there will be any airdrops with the land, but it does mean I won't get any for buying the booster packs which is unfortunate.
I considered selling the booster packs and using the money to buy some from the official shop, but I was worried it might be a long wait before anyone bought the packs from me. Since I didn't want to wait too long to move up a League, I decided to go ahead and open the packs.
My 1st pack had these cards -

I estimate the value of the 1st pack to be at around $1, the 2nd pack at $0.48, the 3rd pack $0.16, the 4th pack $0.91, and the 5th pack $0.27.
Overall experience? Fricking awful. Will I be doing it again. Absolutely.
Looking around at others who've bought packs it seems that you have to buy an awful lot of them to average out the costs. They'll get like 14 lousy low-value packs worth a dollar each, then the 15th one will have some super rare card worth $30 that makes it all worth the effort. Seeing as how I didn't get my super rare card to make all this worth it, I'll need to buy some more booster packs. From the shop this time. I don't want to miss any airdrops later on.
Good news is that I can afford more packs. Bad news is I really can't afford it right now. My money is in ETH and the gas fees are way too high. I wouldn't want to risk paying $20 or $30 in fees for a few dollars worth of booster packs. I don't have any more LItecoins left right now, but I'll have a few dollars worth of Hive to spend in a few days time. I'll use that to buy a few more packs and hopefully will get a high value pack that will make up for those pitiful, disappointing ones I bought this week.
I do still have to open my Azmare dice. I'm waiting a little while longer before I do because I want to open it with both a Legendary potion and an Alchemy potion. I used 2 Legendary potions with the Untamed packs I opened earlier. One of the potions was a prize for completing my daily quest -

The other one I bought with the DEC I had in my account. I'm waiting to save up enough DEC from winning battles so that I can buy another Legendary potion. I already have the Alchemy potion -

Which was also a daily quest prize. I didn't win it until just after I had used up the 2 Legendary potions on Untamed packs so that's why I haven't already used this one. Hopefully I will win enough battles today that I can afford to buy yet another Legendary potion and open the Azmare dice with both potions. Fingers crossed I'll get an amazing card that will make up for the previous duds.
