Daily Quest Reward 4.13

Today's Quest was to win 5 battles using cards from the Fire splinter. It only took me 5 attempts to win all 5 battles and complete this quest! This was surprising as I've never had this quest before, and it's been a while since I've used the Fire splinter.
I used it a lot just starting out because these were the cards I was given to use in the Tutorial of the game. I felt more familiar with them and knew where the correct place was for everything, so I just used them over and over.
But some of the other players were choosing the same splinter and the same tank as I was, with the only differences being that maybe I'd chosen a Sniper where they'd chosen a Sneak instead. That made it feel more like a game of chance and less like a game of strategy.
So I switched to the other splinters and have mostly been playing them since then, favoring Water splinter above the rest most of the time. I have noticed that many other players still seem to favor the Fire splinter and favor using the summoner Pyre, with Living Lava most often chosen as their tank.

I kept that in mind today for the Fire Quest and decided I'd use the summoner Malric Inferno, along with Creeping Ooze, for every battle instead.

This summoner grants +1 melee damage instead of the +1 speed you get from Pyre. I decided on using Creeping Ooze in order to take away that speed buff. This way our monsters would have the same speed but mine would all be dealing out more damage. This turned out to be as effective a strategy as I'd hoped it would be, although only 3 of my 5 opponents used the Fire splinter.
I still managed to win against the other 2 players who chose Life and Earth splinter instead. I did actually end up playing against the same tank during the battle against Life splinter as we both picked the Neutral card Goblin Mech for that one. So Malric's +1 damage buff came in handy for that battle as well.
My prize for completing this quest was another Legendary potion.
