Night Vigil …A Poem of Us
(Edited)

My silence?
I don’t.
I turn to stone
Yet somehow
Endure
Being left alone
To riddle out
The mystery
Of us.
I lie awake
And picture
Your features.
Trying
To understand
This life
We’re leading
Leaving
More questions
Than answers
To my pleading.
I finally fall
Into fitful sleep
Shielding you
From things
Dark and bleak...
Keeping you safe
From wind and rain,
Holding you close
In my arms again.

A good love poem (which is no easy feat), with effective rhythm and graphic architecture. Greetings, @johnjgeddes.
Thank you so much for the feedback, @Celf--much appreciated.
