Neutral quests are hard - My road to daily quest
Today I had a neutral quest, and whilst I often think, yippee only 3 matches to win instead of 5, I always end up taking many more matches to win. Why? because neutral quests are hard. Probably the reason is you don't realize how much for strategy you rely on the Furious Chicken, to draw the opportunity attacks, and also to protect against snipe. I probably over use the sand worm as well.
the road to the Quest
So, all up 9 matches to complete the quest, 3 wins, 5 losses, and one surrendered match, in total I played for 40mins (but sometimes got distracted doing other things.)
Total DEC won 28.864 DEC, enough to buy a very common reward card.
Winning Match 1
This match, I was really focused on the slow ruleset when selectin my monsters. This turned out to be the right choice, where my kobold Miner took out Zalran Efreet, before it could do too much damage to my Living Lava, I think my opponent using the summoner that increases speed gave me a slight edge in this one.
Winning Match 2
Sometimes you are lucky, and this match, I was lucky because my opponent played the death splinter summoner that reduces ranged strength, but I didn't have any strong ranged monsters. I think the key to this match was that I used Wood Nymph as a healer, but protected it against snipes with the Centauri Mage. this really paid off, because it allowed my Nectar queen to remain in the game the whole time.
surrendered Match
I got all excited when I had a surrendered match, because I thought I had completed the quest, but I didn't realize even if you submit a team, the quest doesn't complete. It does on a splinter quest, so I learned something today.
Winning Match 3
This match I didn't have a good feel who would win until I saw it play out, but its a classic earth vs fire match, in the end it was Stone Golem vs Living Lava, and the 4 Damage was too much for the Stone Golem. Finally the last match complete now I can reap the rewards.
The rewards
As I am in Silver III, I received two loot chests, in great anticipation I opened them to find... two Alchemy potions.. I don't know about you guys there, but I prefer cards (or DEC) but hey at least its something useful for when I get my next pack.
