Sharing Battle || Splinterlands Weekly Challenge

Hello Steem users

If you are a player of Splinterlands, then I believe you are doing your best to invest as much as possible in this game and make your cards much more effective, so that you can play in higher leagues and earn much more than usual. Similarly finding out several ways to increase your earnings is a standard strategy. I was not really aware (my bad) of the "Weekly Challenge" arranged by Splinterlands. So after noticing it little more clearly, I thought of getting into the challenge, thus creating this post.

This week's challenge was, share a battle with REVERSE SPEED rule and explain why the setup you made in that game and how it turned out!

As I was searching for the rule-set gameplay I came across this game which I got while I was in the league Gold 1. The mana cap was 32 and I was given two rules to play with the game. Reverse Speed & Healed Out.

Reverse Speed : Monsters with lowest Speed attack first and have highest chance of evading attacks

Healed Out: All healing abilities are removed from Monsters

Once I saw the opponent, it did occurred the player was very much into the game as I saw the previous game-plays. While after thinking some time I was first trying to go with Water Splinter but after some thought went with Fire Splinter. As there was a doubt that the opponent might arrive with mighty Dragons in play, in addition to that for the reverse speed rule I favored Fire Splinter the most in that situation.

Card Selection :

LORD ARIANTHUS :

What better card can be placed then LORD ARIANTHUS in the first position. All the abilities came in handy in this game Shield, Void , Magic Reflect, Thorns. As there was a high chance that the opponent would come at me with magic attack/Ranged attack more, thus this precaution was taken.

ELEMENTAL PHOENIX:

The abilities of this card made me select it at second position. Flying ability was there, which would increase the chance of evading ranged attack. As you see the gameplay you can notice this ability came in handy to avoid attacks and that played a significant role for the game. Not to mention the Reflect and Blast abilities did their work respectively as well.

FIRE ELEMENTAL :

I am still getting used to these untamed cards. While be that it may, the Blast ability made a significant amount of difference. As the Creeping Ooze made my monsters little slower, so taking that out was pretty necessary. Thanks to FE for that. I would have placed it 2nd but the it's life would have been taken out almost immediately by a blast or ranged attack.

FIRE DEMON:

I like this card in fire splinter very much. The effect of it's abilities comes in handy in healed out abilities and as well as ranged attack abilities. Plus 3 ranged attack was necessary as well. In addition like I stated water monsters with magic ability and blast abilities comes in very much use, getting them in non-healing match in fire splinter (in 3 Monsters) that was a gem ;)

FIRE BEETLE :

With all magic attack it would have been a gamble to start a match. So seems like trying Fire Beetle in that position was worth it to strike some attack to 2nd position magic attack monsters.

CENTAUR :

It's one of the best card that I am really familiar with from the past. Saved me a lot of effort in various games. While it did it's job from the last position. Making it's move towards the opponents. While the Scenario would have been different if the reverse speed would have not been there ;)

Did my strategy worked out ?

  • Yep, it sure did and in a very nice way as well. It was a winning streak. I won 40 DEC (10% win Streak, 15% Guild bonus)

Do I love or hate the REVERSE SPEED rule ?

  • Well tbh it depends on the situation, like in low mana game it is hard to deal with but mostly I do like this rule very much.

So this was just an ordinary way of thinking in that short period of time. But I am still in the learning phase and figuring out things for the certain. Splinterlands is much more fun when you have upgraded cards and most importantly you should know how, where & when to play with these cards. Only then you shall get some benefits from these cards.

(Edited)

I probably would have went with Death/Water with that rule-set but at that moment Fire seemed best to me (Death was not available) . And No-heal rule was also present there ;)
