Silvershield Bard playing her song in the battle challenge

Silvershield bard is up for this weeks challenge! Been real busy this week but wouldn't want to miss the challenge. Will the bard make the battle this week or is it just a nice extra, or maybe I won't like the card at all.

Let's jump in quickly and check it out:

The card

The Silvershield Bard is a Life card costing only 1 mana and naturally isn't shining in stats, 1 melee damage, 2 speed and 1 hp only. This is for a lvl 2 variant, lvl 1 doesn't even have any attack points! So why would this card be of any use? It's the skill on this one.

Cleanse
Removes all negative effects on the Monster in the first position on the friendly team. Does not remove summoner debuffs though.

So this card helps keep your tank position strong and kicking, that's good right? Not sure which negative effects this will affect, summoner debuffs? Just poison and that sort of thing? Hope we'll find out.

Weak Magic
Magic attacks hit Armor before reducing Health.

Stampede
The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.

Decent amount of mana to spend here and 2 different rules, the first just affects magic and boosts shield points in that regard. So I'll try to not use magic and fit shields in where I can. Since I'm looking to play the bard which is a life card this won't be hard, Life splinter is known for the love of shields! I think I'll actually use the armorsmith too so any damage on shields is repaired once every turn. So our line ups look like this at the start of battle:

That's a lot of gold on the field hehe, actually only the bard isn't on my side! All of my team was rented, wish I had that many gold cards.. My opponent was a bot and fielded 3 characters with magic damage, good thing I went heavy on my tank shield backed up by the repair skill of armorsmith. 3 of my teams characters are more support focused instead of damage dealers, I sometimes go too heavy on support and lack finishing power. While armorsmith and bard have melee attack, it's not much and since they're not in first position they can't use it until my tank falls. peacefull warrior in the back makes sure the enemies melee attackers are weaker and does have a nice beefy bit of hp to defend any sneak attacks. I think it's time to see if this support heavy setup wrecked me again or if it works in my favor this match.

I think explaining a bit about the card, the strategy, letting you watch the battle and a short evaluation are much more enjoyable for both you and me. Conclusion

Alright, my tank went down way sooner than expected! Kinda thought that was the end too as the rest had flimsy defence.. turned out they had just enough to weather the storm and let the damage dealers do their job. I can conclude that the bard's skill removes the slow effect from the boogeyman. Which hardly really helped since the tank went down quickly anyway..

So am I a fan of the bard? Not really.. I prefer longer lasting buffs or healing effects, that or straight up power of course.

Would I use it again? Certainly would! It some situations it could prove to be effective, especially noxious fumes rule comes to mind where all monsters are poisoned at the start. Getting rid of that quickly while the enemies slowly wither is a big advantage. Other than that I don't think it will be a regular card I'd play.
