What next? After you buy the Splinterlands starter pack

avatar

A lot of new players have joined Splinterlands. They are all excited about playing but it seems a bit overwhelming with all the splinters, the games, the discussions by top players and the various game 'branches' like brawls, guilds and tournaments and the airdrop of course besides the many markets and the hive engine and the BSC and Wax exchanges linked too.

I can assure you, if I were a new player now, I would have been really overwhelmed. So, that is why I thought I should write this to help the new players in any way I can.

First step - buy the starter pack

So, Why am I showing you all these screenshots?

Sometimes, it is better to explain with the help of pictures rather than words.

The first thing you should do as a new player is to do a practice match. Then, you will be able to understand how it works. Trust me, it helps.

When I first joined splinterlands, I didn't even know what Melee meant and I asked others. The fact that I was active in the Neoxian server helped me because most of the members are players and they also helped guide me. I also remember John Doer help teach me and even play a few games for me.

The second thing you should do is to read all the discussions in the splinterlands server and ask any doubt that comes to your mind and also watch a few battles that are given in the epic battle section there or on the leaderboard, maybe.

Keep a record of your progress or write a post about it on Hive and include the tag 'spt' and also share t on social media networks and submit it in the @splinterlands blog page and earn upvotes.

The third thing you can do is to play as many games as you can without draining your ECR or energy capture rate so as to understand how the game is played. It helps because you will know which monsters are good and which are better and so on. Also which monster is good for which rule.

Practice, challenge, and ranked

The fourth thing you can do is to rent a few cards instead of buying them straight on because you can try them before investing and that is why Splinterlands is way better than other games which require investment first rather than fun.

Ingame, peakd or monstermarket.io for rentals and purchases

https://peakmonsters.com/

Try renting a few good neutral cards like Lord Arianthus, Hydra, and others like Spirit of the forest, Ruler of the seas, and common cards in beta which have abilities from the start. Also, rent cards that have the sneak ability because these will help you.

I think I have covered some of the basic topics. Hope you try it out and find the game interesting. It is not just about earning money anymore. It is also about enjoying gaming and interacting with other players from around the world and the wonderful community.
