DEC Bridge to Binance Smart Chain (BSC) & Farming on Cub Defi!

As you may have already seen from this recent announcement post from Leo Finance, Splinterlands has built a bridge between the game and the Binance Smart Chain to allow Dark Energy Crystal (DEC) tokens to be transferred between the two platforms. This will work very similarly to how DEC tokens can currently be transferred between the game and the Ethereum blockchain.

Additionally, around 48 hours from the time of the Leo Finance announcement, a DEC-BUSD farming pool will be added to the Cub Defi platform which will allow players to earn CUB tokens by providing liquidity to the pool!

The rewards from this pool will be in CUB tokens and will be redeemed via the Cub Defi platform, not in DEC redeemed through the Splinterlands website as is currently the case for the Uniswap pools. That also means that these rewards are in addition to the existing Uniswap pool rewards and nothing will change with the rewards currently allocated to those pools as a result of the addition of the new pool on Cub Finance.

What is Cub Finance?

Whether or not you intend to participate in the new DEC-BUSD pool, we HIGHLY encourage everyone to check out Cub Finance at https://cubdefi.com and also the Leo Finance community at https://leofinance.io.

Leo Finance is one of the largest and most successful communities on the Hive blockchain and Cub Finance is their latest product (of many) to be released as a new decentralized finance (defi) platform on the Binance Smart Chain.

How to Send DEC to/from the Binance Smart Chain

When the new bridge is released - which is expected to be tomorrow, Thursday, March 18th - players will be able to transfer DEC tokens between the game and their Binance Smart Chain wallet from the Splinterlands game website.

Players will first need to link their Binance Smart Chain wallet address to their game account using the "Link External Wallets" option in the account drop down. Once a wallet address is linked, players can click on their DEC balance at the top of the game website to open the DEC details popup which will show the balance of DEC tokens held in their linked BSC wallet and allow them to transfer tokens between the game and BSC.

Unlike Ethereum, Splinterlands will not charge a fee for transferring DEC tokens from the game to a linked BSC wallet. When transferring into the game from a linked BSC wallet players will be required to pay the gas fees for the transaction on the BSC network, which are typically very small around $0.10.

In order to transfer DEC tokens into the game via the Splinterlands website, players will need to have a web3 enabled wallet installed, unlocked, and pointing to the Binance Smart Chain network. We recommend using the MetaMask browser extension or the built-in crypto wallets extension for the Brave browser.

For instructions on how to install and set up MetaMask (or Brave crypto wallets) with the Binance Smart Chain, please refer to the Cub Finance docs here: https://docs.cubdefi.com/tutorials/how-to-download-and-setup-metamask

Stay tuned for more updates from the Splinterlands!

This seems really cool.
Seems like people would be more willing to use swap pools on a system that has 10 cent fees instead of $10 fees. Or on dswap with no fee. Both of these are better user experiences with fees and speed that the crappy eth experience.

So this begs the question is there a reason to stay on ethereum? I assume there are but is the tide turning? I'm ready to jump ship with my pool liquidity away from ethereum just say the word.

we could have tons of liquidity, price stability and then speed and low cost transactions.

It seems to me that beyond price stability of pools that these swaps help new users in the splinterlands experience. If they can get $50 of Dec swapping from different tokens much easier and without a $10 fee maybe that will be helpful to onboarding.

Yea, obviously the Uniswap pools are totally unusable right now, but I don't think we are just going to get rid of them. Now that we have the diesel pool set up on Hive Engine and will soon have the BSC pool, I think that will give players sufficient methods for buying and selling DEC without the crazy Ethereum fees.

Whether or not you stay in the Uniswap pool with your liquidity is up to you. We have no plans to remove the rewards there, but the returns may be higher in the new BSC pool depending on how much liquidity goes there and how much (if any) leaves the Uniswap pools.

Are you keeping it in ethereum because of a commitment made to liquidity providers there?

What if most all of us liquidity providers were also happy to leave? Not sure how you determine that but if there was a way...?

Eth is ded, and when theta goes live on April 21st, they will be even better/cheaper/more decentralized than bsc.
The contracts are supposed to copy/paste to their chain from eth.

Well I don't have too much of a horse In the race but just happy to be done with eth. Haha

But there are lots out there trying to eat eths lunch that's for sure and BSC is proving they are very vulnerable

Not many of them doing decentralized content delivery monetized on a blockchain.
(I got in cheap, and am very happy.)

This is definitely really cool. It should also hopefully help in creating more demand for DEC and a more stable price closer the the peg value.

Very cool, I have some DEC, but only 9.5 Cub. What is the best option for me? Do I need to buy more Cub? A friend said that 9.5 is too little, is that right? Thanks.

Just did a DEC to bLEO swap using cub.finance's exchange facility.
Very impressed at the speed and DEC conversion price I got by doing so. If the adaptability of cub.finance to do the same in the future for other tokens is this easy, I can easily see a mass migration of all ETH20 tokens into BEP20 tokens for use on the binance smart chain.

Very impressed @splinterlands @leofinance !!!!😍

So we can do a transfer without the need for BNB? I'm kind of new to this, so it's probably a dumb question!
