Fourth ΛZMΛRÉ Dice Airdrop Card Revealed!

We're coming down to another 50,000 ΛZMΛRÉ Dice packs sold which means that it's time for another airdrop! As we mentioned in the initial Dice airdrop announcement post there will be a total of 5 cards airdropped to ΛZMΛRÉ Dice pack purchasers and they will all be 1 Mana Legendary Monsters from each of the 5 basic Splinters.

The first airdropped card was the Life Splinter Legendary Monster - Lensmaster, the second airdropped card was the Death Splinter Legendary Monster - Theorosa Nightshade, the third was the Water Splinter Legendary Monster - Two Gun Pete, and now we will be airdropping a new Earth Splinter 1-Mana Legendary Monster - Epona!

Even though the card is being revealed now, it won’t be “unlocked” and available in the game until after the remaining ~12,000 ΛZMΛRÉ Dice packs are sold. Epona will be the 9th Legendary card to be available in ΛZMΛRÉ Dice edition booster packs, so the chances of receiving the card in the airdrop (as well as in booster packs going forward, without the use of potions) will be approximately 0.444% or 1 in every 225 packs on average, with an average of 1 in 50 of them (or 2%) being Gold Foil.

Additionally, players will be GUARANTEED to receive at least one Epona card for every 225 ΛZMΛRÉ Dice packs they have purchased.

Show Me the Stats!

While Epona doesn't have any attack, she more than makes up for it with a bunch of useful abilities. At level 1 she increases the health of all friendly monsters due to the Strengthen ability, and then at levels 2 and 3 she picks up Divine Shield and Immunity which make her difficult to kill, and finally at max level she gains the ability to Repair the armor of friendly monsters.

Get In On the Airdrop!

At the time of writing there are just over 12,000 ΛZMΛRÉ Dice packs available for purchase that will be eligible for the Epona airdrop. Of course, all ΛZMΛRÉ Dice booster packs purchased to date are also eligible, and after the airdrop the card will be available to be found in all ΛZMΛRÉ Dice packs opened going forward.

These packs will also be eligible for the final remaining ΛZMΛRÉ Dice airdrop that will happen after the next set of 50,000 ΛZMΛRÉ Dice packs are sold.

Please keep in mind that ΛZMΛRÉ Dice packs are ONLY available to be purchased using Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) tokens, and all DEC spent to buy them are burned. DEC currently trades on the following exchanges:

Epona - Lore

Epona was a dreamer, a lover of everything that lives and grows. Hundreds of years ago when the kingdom of Lyveria was young, Epona was its brightest daughter. She was a brilliant creator whose paintings could draw tears of joy from the Spirit of the Forest herself. The intricacies of her handcrafts were unmatched by anyone in the land; Epona could weave beautiful tapestries from grasses and brambles. She was a thoughtful philosopher whose musings could leave the wisest old men of Lyveria speechless in astonishment. She was a fearless adventurer whose greatest comfort came when she stood on the edge of the wild. She would spend hours each day among the wild horses that roamed the Lyverian countryside, her closest companions. Every suiter wanted Epona for a wife and every young lady wanted her for a sister. In many ways, she was a champion of the Lyverian people.

On the evening of the great Meteor Storm in 522 AS, Epona was writing a song on her lyre and watching the sky through her east-facing open window. She was among the first to see the fire falling from the sky. Knowing immediately that she must save the horses, Epona left the city walls and ran to the fields as the first meteors began to land.

The horses were gathered atop an open hill, back to back as though being together would save them from the falling fire. They kicked and whinnied wildly, challenging the foreign storm in their own ancient language and unsure where to run as the sky darkened all around with a ghastly red glow. Epona met them there and squeezed into their midst. If she could not protect them, then she would die with them on that hill.

Surrounded by frightened horses and falling fire, Epona fell to her knees and prayed to the Spirit of the Forest with all her heart. She prayed until her sweat watered the ground and until she was blind with stinging tears. She prayed for protection of the horses at any cost, and the Spirit of the Forest heard her cries. The Ancient One came and placed a powerful blessing over the horses.

The field where the horses stood was scorched and destroyed. Giant craters covered the ground and smoking meteors set the world ablaze, but the powerful magic of the Spirit protected the cluster of horses with a divine shield. When at last the meteor storm subsided the horses turned inward, where Epona lay still. Her prayers of protection had been successful, but she was unable to protect herself. She had prayed until her heart burst, and she was dead.

The Spirit of the Forest was overcome with emotion at the girl’s sacrifice, so she bent down and mourned over Epona’s body. When her tears fell on Epona’s chest, the mana flows beneath the Planet’s battered surface came into alignment. All the magical power of the Planet was directed into the girl’s broken body, and she was raised from the dead. Epona stood, more radiantly beautiful than before and thanked the Spirit of the Forest for her intervention.

As the sun came out the next day after the terrible meteor storm, the horses wandered away into the wilderness, and Epona went with them. She never returned to her Lyverian home, but she can often be seen running with the wild horses of the fields, who continue to thrive to this day under her loving protection.

Stay tuned for more updates from the Splinterlands!

Powerful card in the earth elemental series. Epona will gladly fill the same role as Creeping Ooze.

Ha, it's confirmed. You guys are Zelda fans.
I knew the Furious Chicken was taken from Ocarina of Time.

I am a Zelda fan, but I pulled the name Epona from Celtic and Roman mythology. I have heard since that Epona was the name of Link's horse. 😄

I never played Ocarina of Time, but chickens have always had plenty of reasons to be furious.

The chicken's were peaceful creatures in a small village. You could carry them around and use their wings to slowly float to the ground when holding them over your head.

When slashing them with your sword they would accept it. Once, twice... and then they would attack you. That's why a chicken with "Enrage" immediately reminded me of Zelda.

And yes, Epona was Link's horse. You could summon it by playing a song on your Ocarina.

Sounds like you need to dive into this gem of retro gaming ;)

I remember the chicken swarms in Link to the Past, but you'd have to beat on a chicken for quite awhile to trigger it 🤣
