Splinterlands: Cleanse Yourselves as Halving is Coming

Hello Splinterlands Lovers

The Bitcoin Halving Event is drawing near and to celebrate this milestone halving event Splinterlands will be running a promotion event starting from May 4th at around 9 - 10 AM ET(Announcement).

During the promotion a new epic promo card will be introduced The HALFLING ALCHEMIST, also there will be $2,000 of BTC worth tournaments. The HALFLING ALCHEMIST will mark the introduction of a new ability called Halving.

HALFLING ALCHEMIST

HALFLING ALCHEMIST is a epic promo monster that belongs to netural splinter. It possess Halving ability right from level 1 and also gets redemption ability at level 4.

What is Halving Ability???

Halving ability means that whenever a monster is hit by or hits a monster with Halving ability, all of their attacks(melee, magic or ranged) gets reduced to half(rounded off).

Halving ability can only be applied once to a monster meaning monster's attack can not be further reduced(to 1/4) with the application of yet another Halving. Multiple attack type monsters will get all their attack stats reduced to half by the application of Halving. The attack cannot be reduced to 0 by Halving ability, meaning monsters having 1 attack will not be affected by Halving. Halving effect can be undone by Cleanse ability.

For now, only HALFLING ALCHEMIST will possess Halving ability but I think in future more monsters with Halving ability will sure be introduced.

HALFLING Alchemist seems like a fierce monsters thanks to the Halving ability right from the level 1. Moreover it is a neutral monster costing just 2 mana, so we will be seeing it getting used more frequently in all battle formats.

Imagine HALFLING Alchemist in Equalizer battle rule.
(I expect further adjustments to Halving ability in future as it can prove to be quite too extreme in certain battle rules, like redemption).

How to deal with HALFLING ALCHEMIST???

The new Halving ability will be a game changer. The only way around it is by using Cleanse Ability. So, I am seeing Cleanse ability monsters getting appreciated in near future. Better garb some Cleanse Monsters soon!

As of now only 6 monsters in whole of the splinterlands possess Cleanse ability.

1. HERBALIST (Untammed, Common, Life, Lev 3)
2. SILVERSHIELD BARD (Promo, Rare, Life, Lev 1)
3. TRUTHSPEAKER (Untammed, Rare, Life, Lev 5)
4. MERMAID HEALER (Promo, Epic, Water, Lev 6)
5. ZALRAN EFREET (Reward, Legendary, Fire, Lev 2)
6. DIAMOND DRAGON (Untammed, Legendary, Dragon, Lev 2)

The cheapest option to have cleanse ability monster is SILVERSHIELD BARD as it cost around 0.1$ and have Cleanse ability right from the start.

I am (like everyone else) desperately waiting for the HALFLING ALCHEMIST. I am sure we are gonna have a blast!

Great event coming and we need to be prepared for it. It is quite nice when there are such limited edition cards and the Halfling Alchemist for sure will be a treasured card.

Congrats to Splinterlands for keeping the flame alive in the game and pumping adrenaline through continuous improvements and promotions! I wonder after Untamed what will there be such of a big caliber...

They have tools and magic potion factories in the pipelines.
Wounld't that be amazing to prepare your own tools and magic spells and the ability to sell them in open market.
