My SPS Dilemma

In my post, 5 HIVE Goals for 2022!, I mentioned one of my goals is to reach 40k SPS Staked. As of 3 days ago, I finally achieved 75% of the goal!

However, a part of me is wondering if I should buy more Chaos Legion packs. At this rate, I should probably reach my Staked SPS goal in 3 months. Since there's a lot of time before the airdrop ends, I've been thinking of reallocating funds.

The Dilemma

Should I spend some of the SPS so I can buy more packs and improve my game or do I continue to collect more SPS and forego buying more packs. In either scenario, I don't see myself adding any more money to the game.

My Thought Process

I am highly bullish on SPS so in a way I feel like this will be a waste of money. I think SPS has the potential to climb high especially when Rift Watchers comes out. Packs have the potential to do a 3-4x once Chaos Legion is sold out, but that'll be a while. For the short term, I see that I should be buying more packs, but I know in the long term, I will be kicking myself for letting go of the SPS I had and selling it for super cheap!

What do you think?

Whenever this kind of thing comes up, I usually do 50/50, that way it's impossible to lose more than necessary)

What do you mean by 50/50? Did you mean half the airdrops goes to staking and the other half goes to buying packs?

Yes, that's what I do when the future is not obvious

What about keeping your SPS and using anything you're winning in the game to add to your playing deck? We should have a few months at least to be buying the cards with favorable buyer prices and this way you can focus on your strengths getting leveled up to the league you want or filling in any weakness that may be holding your game back rather than hoping for random chance to provide the cards you're needing. STDD also had a good suggestion if you're uncertain about what to do, splitting up your daily airdrops can be a helpful strategy.

I'm currently staking somewhere between 60-70% of my SPS airdrop each day and putting the rest aside to use when Riftwatchers is out so I don't have to add any more money to the game at that point.

Currently I earn around 400-600 dec per day when I play, but it seems to decrease a bit more each day. I was interested in buying more packs for more airdrop points because I doubt I'd be lucky again like last time (but hope I will be!).

Currently I've got a good silver deck built with a large focus on Chaos Legion, but I'm slowly building up my gold deck. I just can't help but try and consider if the path I chose is really the most optimal one.
