Nov. 12, 19: AutomaticWin, Creating Homework, Programming, and Teaching Calculus

Man, once again my daily quest was like pulling teeth. Win one, lose two, win two lose one and bouncing back and forth losing every time I tried to use my quest splinter (which was fire today). I rage quit at least three times.

Now that I think about it, there aren’t all that many days were I’m like “Yay, Steemmonsters was fun, got my quest done ✅ no problem.” Anyway, pretty good rewards today...love the Battle Queen, and I caught a streak into the mid range of Gold I, giving me a bit of a buffer hopefully for daily rewards the next couple days and not to get screwed so far down into silver when it resets.

We got out early again today and scored another #AutomaticWin!

Another cold day, but no more snow after yesterday. The wind was bad in some places, but wasn’t too cold otherwise. The gloves and hat stayed on for sure.

Walking around town was seriously difficult. I do my “civic duty” and make sure that my sidewalks are plowed out, but not everyone does, so half the time we had to walk in the road.

Is this a metaphore for winter or what?

If you ignore all the context, it is actually quite pretty, I will admit.

In the afternoon I created some more homework assignments for the Calculus class and got some solid work done on the game. I’m starting to construct the game’s interior representation of itself to test for collision, keep track of everything, and give instructions for drawing the background and passive pieces. I haven’t run all the new changes, and I think I know where there’s a bug already, but it should be easy to fix.

In the evening I taught Calculus. Considering how much ground we covered and especially in the last class, I decided not to really cover any new material today. We just pounded an assload of examples...indefinite integrals, definite integrals by definition and by the fundamental theorem, u-subs, logarithmic integrals, and by parts. Just tons of examples to help them start to get more comfortable with what it’s like to actually do these types of problems instead of all just theory.

Got my stats for the past week. 😀. Lots of green arrows all over the place, and more than forty thousand more steps than the previous week. 🤩
