I lost my first battle on Splinterlands

Yesterday I tried out how Splinterlands work. It was all new to me so I didn't expect much. After loging in, I decided to read about the game, what are Summoners, various monsters and Dark Energy Crystals. Then I wanted to practice playing with somebody. Not for real, though, since I didn't know what I was doing.

The first thing for the system was to find me an enemy. I had to wait. Then the screen said:

As corpses of the fallen are removed from the Arena, a worthy opponent is being matched to your level of magic and mayhem.

After that I had to select my team. I had all kinds of monsters available. I selected Malaric Inferno, Alric Stormbringer, Lyann Natura and Tyrus Paladium.

Then we started playing. I remember two monsters facing each other and my opponent's monster beat me several times. But my Malaric Inferno just stood there defensless as a baby. Maybe I didn't know how to weild him.

After a couple of rounds I was defeated, my opponent won and was awarded some 100+ DEC.

Maybe it will go better the next time...

(Although I doubt it, haha)

It doesn't take long to learn the basics but it will be tough without a few more different cards. If you wish I can lend you a splinter that I rarely use so you can get a better feel without spending any STEEM?

Thanks! I have bought some cards earlier. Do you know if it's possible to play the game on the phone?

I'm pretty sure it is and seem to remember having a few goes last year - and it zapping my battery in no time!
