Dragon Summoners FTW!
Dragon is one of my favourite Splinters. First, because dragons are pretty cool creatures! π But the versatility the Splinter gives, being combined to any other splinter, is just unbeatable. And on top of that, it has powerful summoners!! And since this week's Share your Battle contest is about them, I'll be focusing on my first ever maxxed summoner:
Daria Dragonscale!! The fact that it is a reward card, made it a lot easier to max, and I remember I've achieved it shortly before she was out of print. Daria has a VERY COOL characteristic that sometimes goes unnoticed: she is an epic summoner. And why is this important? Because of this:
At level 5, she can summon level 7 rare monsters! Level 5 is her gold league level, where rare summoners are capped at level 8, when they can summon... level 6 rare monsters only! And this tiny detail can make a lot of difference!
Some rare monsters gain an extra ability at level 7! Take Serpentine Soldier, for example: he gets thorns at level 7! Put it in the last spot if you're expecting sneak attacks, and that ability can make a difference between victory and defeat!
Add that and the +1 melee attack bonus, and you can see why I love playing with Daria! I use her in larger mana cap games, or when I do want to make use of those rare monsters extra abilities. This battle is one example:
Rules:
- only odd monsters can be used
- every monster has the sneak ability
Im these kind of rulesets I like to go berserk mode: fast monsters and high melee. And since the mana cap was huge, I had no restrictions.
I don't usually tank with the robo-dragon knight, but the high HP and the divine shield would probably buy me enough time to destroy the back row of the opponent.
Fineas Rage as an off tank, high melee and very fast
Exploding Dwarf, what else? Yes, squishy, but if the opponent doesn't have thorns... you can imagine what happens
Scale doctor to heal my back row monster
The vigilator: this card is just insane! Add the melee attack from Daria and the double strike, and you have 2 x 4 melee and double ranged, so a 10 point damage per turn!
And last, the Serpentine soldier! Fast and able do dodge a lot, and shield and thorns make it perfect for these rulesets.
Although the last 2 monsters had shield, the speed and high melee of my team took them out easily.
Here, Serpentine dodging rexxie's attack.
And by the end of the second round, only the opponent's tank remained: easy win, although it must be said the cards level was imbalanced to my side.
You can see the full battle here!
I love playing with Selenia Sky also, but I guess I cherish Daria a little bit more! π
See you on the battlefield!

i love daria. i like to use her with death because of the melee healer (pegasus) and the strong smaller melee sneak monsters (skeleton and badger). can field a pretty formidable team with only 20 mana for the battle (including the 4 for daria). i haven't had a dragon quest all season, so i don't have a battle to share.
So true! See you on the battlefield! ;)

Wait... she is out of print? :o
I am so outdated!
She is very cool indeed :)
Ahahahaha out of print for ages! Thank you for the visit! ;)
Hahaha that's exactly how updated I am :D :D
Nicely done. The game was completely in your control. Wise use of placement of monsters. π@rehan12
