In the beginning there was only blogging 😊.
Now there is a lot of ways to earn something in the Steem ecosystem.

A couple of months ago I decided to start following more closely where does my earnings, so to speak comes on Steem. Since there are more and more dApps on the blockchain and different ways to make a STEEM.

I had some idea how things stand but wanted to be more precise. So, I made a pie for my self. Here it is.

I have categorized my incomes in 6 categories, for now, although there are more, but these are the main ones at the moment.

This is how things stands for June 2019:

1. Steemonsters – 67%
2. Analysis – 16%
3. Blogging – 7%
4. Actifit – 4%
5. Curation – 3%
6. Delegation – 3%

Yep, Steemmonsters is the main income for me at the moment on this platform. I knew that Steemmonsters is taking over my activities on the blockchain and my investments as well, but this is more than expected. 2/3 from the income comes from Steemmonsters. Dominant.

Just a note. Things can change fast in the crypto world and this chart can look very different in a few months. So be careful when making some final conclusions.

Of course, a lot that I earn from Steemmonsters is invested back into the game. I’m closing on 1000$ worth of cards.

Now What?

Seeing this chart one can ask him self is it worth blogging at all, or I should just play Steemmonsters. From a financial point of view and the numbers, this is the logical conclusion. But there is more in the blogging and social media then just the financial incentive. After all everyone is on Facebook and they don’t have any financial incentive from that 😊. It is the engagement and the communication and having fun. Being recognized for what you are writing and doing.

So even the odds are against blogging I will keep doing it. This is why this platform continues to exist and will continue so, because people are extracting more then just a financial value from it.
