Stuck in Gold
The ongoing Splinterlands season is about 5 days old and there are 9 days to go until the end of it. I'm frustrated because I started the season in Gold II and so far I have only managed to reach Gold I. Having played 171 games and winning roughly half of them, I expect to reach diamond but it seems the algorithm doesn't want me to get there...
How is it for you? Do you also have the feeling that it's getting more and more difficult to climb the ranking? Please say yes ;-)

But actually, it's roughly the same for me. My range is 53-59% wins in Silver and this season so far has been 55%.

You are not alone buddy, am normally in Gold league III but am finding it tough getting in there and stay in there. I've made it to Gold III at the moment but there's a chance I get kicked out to Silver. It has been crazy tough lately.

Thanks for confirming that it's tougher than usual. I feel less bad :-). It's challenging to be just between two leagues because it totally alters your gameplay with the summoner cap changing.
Oh yes, it is absolutely more difficult to get back to the league you ended the season in. With the low rental prices it seems that a lot of accounts are renting max level cards
Also bots have become really good at card selection it seems
Also because of the new focus point system there aren’t many accounts that constantly play the same splinter and are predictable because of that. So it is a lot harder to guess what your opponent is going to play.
By the way, according to the battlemage bot the strongest summoner in gold league is Thaddeus brood, quix the devious is second with death splinter cards.
It seems that debuffing your opponent is currently much stronger than buffing your own cards
That's quite true. It becomes very difficult to guess your oponents splinter and makes winning even more difficult.

Yea, the competition has been a lot harder in Gold.. and even Silver of late.
It seems we go up and down without really progressing. It can be quite frustrating :-)
That's true my friend, things are getting tougher. Yesterday, close to the beginning of my playing session I almost reached Diamond 2. I should have stopped there! I am now at the bottom of Diamond 3 and risked dropping to Gold 1 in my last few fights, instead of advancing. I did play at irregular hours for me lately when I was more tired, so this might be a reason too. But I also believe we are up against much-improved playing bots for mid-higher leagues lately.
Kind of releaved not to be the only one suffering lol. I also have the feeling that the algorithm is trimmed to push people down at the moment...
The game has become very difficult.
I'm in the silver league and I haven't wanted to move up to the gold league because it's too hard, and I don't have the deck to be competitive, but good luck in your battles.

It seems it's the same for most people. I believe the algorithm takes more away when we lose than it gives when we win...
This is a weird season. I am Silver 1 in Wild and Just touched Gold 2 in Modern.
The weird part is the level 1 bots being spammed everywhere.
A win against them gains you +10 and a loss cost you -34.
I was winning 3 out of 4 battles and still going backwards. The 17 win streak helped me a bit.
I think the bot farms fear the new proposal that just passed and are stripping as many rewards out of the system as they can.

I had a similar feeling, when winning you get like 10 to 20 points, when you lose, your rating decreases by about 30 or more...

I am currently in Silver and I plan to stick around in Silver without advancing my league. I remember getting stuck quite a lot towards the start and it's really hard to go up in the league. As I am sticking myself in Silver where my cards are maxed out and I don't get into too big of an advantage, I am fine.

I think it's a good strategy to stay in the league that you are good in. Once you are below it, the way back is very difficult and if you too high, you simply don't get much wins...

Normally I struggle during the two first days of a season but now it's more than 5 days into the season and I'm still struggeling lol
