When the bots become unbeatable
I've read today this great post by @michupa where he shares his experience of wanting to get back to silver but unfortunately he doesn't manage to get enough wins because of the powerful bots.
Lately, I've noticed that my win rate in brawls was going down regularly and I learned that it is now even possible to use a kind of „helper“ from these bots services that allows you to use the databases to know which cards to play even in brawls and in tournaments.
I went on a little discovery journey today. I wanted to check whether I was still competitive against bots. So I played 10 games in wild diamond and out of these 10 games, I won exactly zero!
I have a lot of experience playing the game and I'm probably not the worst player but this experience shows me that the bots are becoming unbeatable...

It's a bit frustrating that this happens!
Frustration is exactly the word I would use for the people trying to beat the bots manually :-)
Bots are a curse to the game.
I have to agree and everybody is kind of obliged to go into the bots just to have a chance to get some victories.
I am playing manually since the beginning and in the last few seasons, even with regular upgrades of my deck, have noticed my win rate dropped heavily and it gets more and more difficult to win games in gold league. It does get frustrating when your opponent has the most obscure lineup that no one would think of! lol
I wonder if they can really stop bots as there are local bots and helpers available. I am not sure how they can be stopped? But I do think it makes sense to have a real player league and then a farming league for bot players at least.
When you look at some of these lineups, you would never consciously put them together yourself but it seems that the database learned that such lineups are more successful and that's the reason why it gets more and more difficult to score some victories manually.
I can't say whether it's possible to ban the bots but having so professional services available that legally are able to provide more powerful lineups than human could generate makes out of the game a different type of construct that I wouldn't call a game anymore :-)
yes, it is more of a farming game i guess.
Remember the saying that "if you can't beat them..."! 😆😅

There is no way that bot will be removed in the near future... especially now when there is a low amount of human players... If that happens, we would have a situation of waiting for a battle to start like it was 3-4 years ago... 😃
But, maybe in the next hype/bull run, it would be a good time to do it... I don't have high hopes, but who knows... :)
I believe that it will be a kind of bot against bot like bots. Not that different from trading bots that generate a small profit from their activity. But then I don't think that SL can be called a game anymore...

Me and my friends also stopped playing this game for the same reason because when one starts more If the bots start all over, then it becomes difficult to win with them, and because of this, the person becomes very angry.
There is definitely a lot of frustration when you can't win any games because of the powerful bots.
Yeah that's way people's leave this game
Splinterlands is my favourite blockchain game but I have always considered bots a big problem for future prospects.
I hope that the introduction of anti-bots measures in modern will happen as soon as possible because the more time passes, the more real players move away from the game and a game without or with few real players has no future...

I totally agree and it would be bad if the general thought related to the game is "anyways Splinterlands is a bot game". If that happens, it will become really difficult to attract new players.
I'm not sure about bots. I find that my losses are usually because I use under levelled cards in the league I'm playing at. Perhaps the higher leagues with a lot more variables have bots being able to come up with more efficient combos.
Anyway, I do feel that any gaming service should not be friendly to bots like what Splinterlands used to espouse. There is a reason why all the big gaming companies come down with the banhammer whenever their systems detect suspected bot usage. It simply deteriorates the gaming experience for the rest of the casual human player base.
With a game like splinterlands a bot that relies on a database can become better and better over time. The more entries it has, the more precise the cards can be used and over time it becomes impossible to beat a bot. This will lead to a situation where everybody needs to bot to have a chance to get some rewards.
It sucks to see that. I have heard a lot of people complain about bronze but I am not even in bronze. I am currently in Silver/Gold. I did hear that the overpowered gladius cards might help to win those matches (if you have them available such as Quora).
You can beat the bots as long as you have more powerful cards. But in diamond almost everybody has or rents powerful cards. The bot wins each time because it uses a kind of computer learning based on all the games played so far.
Boats are killing user experience, the team need to take strong action against these bots. Sad to know that you lost 10/10 games against bots.
Well it's either no bots or only bots I believe. If the bots are stronger than human players, the game will become a bot world lol
I still play manually in Brawls and can confirm the trend of lower win rate against players who use helpers. You won't like my opinion on the success chance of fighting bots, in general, in games: it is slim. And if maybe some bots can be stopped, helpers cannot, because humans are the interface between the bot and the game.
I quite agree with you. By accessing the bot database these helper services manage to circumvent any bot prohibition, since it's real players who enter the teams...
Don't think I was surprised by this - players are leaving this game. A view that I always held. Even I have played a lot less.
That said, I have been playing in Wild Silver for the longest time and I don't have an issue with win rates (not sure why). My win rate for ranked battles last season is 79/136 (58%) and currently 34/53 (64%) and my cards are nowhere near Silver levels. With my limited deck, it's really all about creativity to field lineups. Brawls are even easier somehow (not sure why again) - I am winning 70-80% of the matches consistently, sometimes even 100%. But my experience is probably an odd one.

It's interesting to see that we have different experiences. It's possible that bots are less frequent in silver than they are in diamond. Nice to hear all the same that people still manage to make more than 50% win rate...
I play only manually, and I while I suffer frustrating losing streaks, they don't do too much damage because I also enjoy winning streaks as well.
I start in bronze and have always reached my current limit in Silver, so at my level of play and investment in the game, I don't mind too much the current situation with bots.
We can also learn every time we lose by looking at how the other side won, so even if we are outpaced by ever-improving bots, we can also improve our own gameplay.

It's true that the bots can show us new types of lineups that we can copy to improve our game :-)
Regarding the Bronze League, It's almost impossible to win against bots especially in low mana battles (20 Mana or less) and this drives me insane. As many fellow members have said, the key is to use a higher levelled cards in order to defeat them!
If your cards are more powerful than the ones used by bots, then you can still beat them. That's true. In low mana battles the lineups proposed by the bots are only beatable if your cards do have a higher level.
This is new... in my times, bots were really dumb and easy to beat
Unfortunately the services that are provided by archmage or xbot don't just play the game for you. They actually use machine learning processes that allow the bots to become more and more powerful.
