Are you ready for the DEC Squeeze?

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Three days ago, I made a post about the fact that there won't be enough DEC tokens around to actually stake on land. Now, I wanted to have a closer look at how the supply of DEC is evolving these days.

Basing my analysis on only three days, which isn't that accurate of course, I came to the realization that we might have a big squeeze for DEC...

The squeeze is coming for sure. I still have a few cards that I would like to buy, but I am stacking SPS, I think long term it will pay off. :)

The way I see it, SPS will get a major push thanks to SPS, even before we get to land 1.5. So staking some SPS might probably be the best idea :-)

Definitely, something odd is happening with DEC tokens, but it will be in phases, per se we may see a faster squeeze during 2nd Sale event of DEC-B tokens after or before Land 1.5 update.

Again, when players burn a lot of SPS after squeeze, DEC price will start to slide.

It's interesting to see how the supply of DEC is decreasing even without direct land influence. It means DEC is disapearing in an organic way. I believe people will swap sps with dec only if it's profitable for them. Therefore I don't think that DEC prices will slide too much. Well that's just how I see it :-)

Dec is nearly at peg. Now i can get a card thats 3000 Dec for 2000 Dec, its a really big difference !

The purchasing power of DEC went up by close to 30%. That's not bad :-)

I see a lot of people say that we can connect them on Torum and I saw it under your post too
Can you please tell me what it is about?

Torum is a kind of social media platform. It's by far not as active as Hive though :-)

Thanks for sharing, I also noticed this trend. Have turned from neutral to slightly bullish for SPS, and the crypto space has been quite bullish lately with BTC and recently ETH.

I also see a rather bullish tendency for SPS, especially when people start to burn SPS for DEC.

I just bought SPS for my SORT token so I'm optimistic about the development. I think the DEC token can stay at these levels or a little higher but I don't expect it to go much out of the fork.

There is now a mechanisme in place that will keep DEC at peg. If it goes above peg, people can make some arbitrage by swaping and burning SPS for DEC.

At the current point of above .0009 the price of DEC is within 10% of peg. I think the opportunity cost of money isn't worth holding the needed staking DEC in a wallet at this point. My needs for DEC for land are also small so not hoarding them at this point.

Staking DEC doesn't have much sense I agree because it won't go over peg. If it goes, there will be bots doing arbitrage with SPS. In my opinion it's better to hold SPS.

I was sceptical if they could pull off DEC at peg, but it seems like it might actually be possible now. If the squeeze really does happen, it'll be a good day for SPS.

Exactly, the ones profiting from that are not DEC holders but SPS holders :-)

In this way we are seeing that the market is also being bullish and its team is also giving some kind of update daily which is a very good sign for this game and people are now burning SPS a lot. Within the coming days we can see SPS price going higher.

It's possible that over time this mechanisme will reduce the supply of SPS and it can only have a positive impact on the price.

Yes we all are waiting for bull market.

That is a lot of DEC burned and I think SPS can actually start being used for a use case. When DEC is below peg, there just doesn't seem to be the need for anything to be done.

We this burn rate it's just a matter of time until dec goes above peg and sps is burnt for DEC. It will be a good effect for SPS I believe.

That's good and SPS price will go up :)
I will continue stacking my SPS for better profit in near future. Hope so !

It will probably be a slow process but I'm confident that it will be good to hold sps in the future :-)

Interesting analysis. I think a good amount of DEC is getting spent on energy, gladius case stones, and guild buildings (not to mention card rentals and sales).

The value of DEC will definitely flow into SPS, but it remains to be seen whether SPS demand to burn for DEC will outpace the SPS inflation due to rewards payouts.

That's a very good point and it's difficult to predict that. I think it will be felt mainly once SPS staking requirements for leagues will be active. People will need to stake the tokens on their accounts and take them away from liquid supply.

It's going to be interesting I believe ;-)

Yes I agree, especially for the botted accounts playing in the lower leagues. Most of the active players in Splinterlands already have SPS staked to be able to play in tournaments, but SPS staking replacing CP requirements is going to be great for the SPS token imo.

After an aggressive operation with the aim of pegging DEC and a lot of "promise to pay" alternative tokens like DEC Batteries, it seems that DEC is very close to its peg. I wonder if going further there will be any reflection also on SPS price improving.
