Dealing with too many Splinterlands cards...

dealing with too many SL cards.jpg

I have been playing Splinterlands for a very long time and hardly a week passed without me playing at least one game of Splinterlands. Over time, I have accumulated a lot of cards spread over several accounts. It seems the more cards I have, the more messy things get.

Today, I spent about two hours just to send cards around, to sell some and to buy others. The longer I play the game, the more time this card management takes. I actually enjoy doing it but I have to admit that I lost the overview...

I have cards from every collection since the game started and I often have the same card, at different levels of upgrade in different accounts. I made a little calculation today and I own about 7000 Splinterlands cards! It's not surprising that things are messy.

The more cards I have, the less I want to invest in new series

Considering the amount of time I need to managed these cards, I simply don't want to add more work to it. This is one of the reasons why I decided not to buy riftwatcher packs. I love to open packs and all but I simply don't want to have more cards to deal with. I prefer to pick the one or other card of the series and buy it from the market.

Losing money because of my mess

With the mess I have at the moment, I actually lose money because I don't manage to get an overview of my cards and can't rent them out in an efficient way. I started a couple of days ago with a first step towards organization. I dissolved one of my 4 playing accounts and distributed some cards around to improve my main deck. Now that I have „only“ 3 accounts to play with, I will probably need less duplicate cards and can merge some of them.

I'm still far away from being able to use one of the rental services that actually manages my rentals. Hopefully I will get there...

Thoughts regarding future collections

It's great to see the new splinterlands collections coming out but I believe that I will less and less buy into packs and rather pick the powerful cards and just develop them. I will probably reduce the number of cards I play with and make sure that they are at the best possible level.

More cards doesn't necessarily make you better in the game

When I look at my game play, I realized that I use only a very limited amount of my cards. The big quantity of cards sometimes makes it more difficult to build a deck simply because you don't see all the cards available. This is another reason why I want to reduce the number of cards in my deck and just keep the cards that I actually play with. The problem is that I need to keep a certain amount of CP so that I'm not limited by that.

Well with a lot of cards comes a lot of work, a lot of decisions but also a lot of fun and I should probably not complain for having too many cards...

imo every card has its utility and its place in the battlefield....you need every single of them despite the fact that it doesn't seem this way

When you have a choice of 160 cards for one battle, sometimes you would like to have less cards to chose from lol

I'm going by the same process! Only have my main and one alt account, but I do have to sort through my collection and fine tune it. Work in progress! 😁

It's definitely work in progress and it's actually very time consuming :-)

Indeed it is! But will compensate in the end. ;)

I have a similar issue because I am finding it hard to list all the cards out and get them rented out for income. It doesn't help that PeakMonsters can't tell me which cards are on cooldown for myself.

I will try to put all the cards that I don't need on another account and only do rentals from there. Like that I don't need to know my own cooldown time.

Perhaps try one those rental services which are all the rage nowadays? No doubt they'll take a fee, but it frees up your time for everything else, especially since you have such a big collection. !PIZZA 🍕

This could be a solution in the long run. The first step will be to identify which cards I'm actually playing. They I will send all the remaining cards to another account and from there it might be an idea to use such a service :-)

Good luck towards the organisation! I also try to get some Ordnung in my life, but it doesn't always work!

I hate having a mess, especially in things that I consider a business. So it's high time to bring some order into my decks :-)

Hahaha you can rent out the extras for free DEC!

That's the final plan. First I just need to put all the ones I don't need in the same place :-)

(Edited)

As I remember you kept a lot of cards at level 1. I upgraded most of my cards, so I have fewer cards. I also practically have only one serious playing account with 360 cards in it. I still find it quite manageable. Although it's easier when everything is automated.

But I am glad they'll introduce more filters.

The filters will definitely be helpful for quicker lineups. I also need to send the cards I'm not using to another account and manage my rentals and sales from there. I believe in the long run, I will be able to be more efficient with a nice separation.
