Having fun playing Splinterlands in Modern Format
A couple of days ago, the Splinterlands Team introduced some changes in the TOS of the game. Namely banishing bots and battle helpers from Modern Format, from Brawls and Tournaments.
I have to say that I'm very happy about this change and I missed playing against humans, measuring my skills and thinking strategies.

I think Battle Helpers are still rampant and undetectable. I wouldn't be too happy about these changes just yet.
At least xbot battle helper has been disconnected and that's the one most people were using. I don't believe either that everybody will play cleanly but at least part of my games might be against real humans now :-)
I think its a great move and I have been like you frustrated recently with 10 game losing streaks and waiting for players to finish using the battle helper etc. I am looking forward to improving my deck too when you can think of different tactics and have more of a chance against us infallible humans!
If you lose your games anyways, there is not much incentive to improve your deck. Now that I see some light at the end of the tunnel, I'm eager to revisit some strategies and maybe even buy some cards.

Banning battle helpers was a great move, and the fun for real players like you and me will increase, and I also noticed today an increase in SPS rewards per battle won. Coincidence or are we already seeing the first positive effects on rewards as well?

I'm sure that the quantity of human players is much smaller than bot players. Therefore the rewards will be shared among fewer people in my opinion. Which is another nice side effect.

I saw the terms of service but I don't think things have gotten easier. I have a feeling that people are still using them and I think I had my win rate drop after it got implemented. Maybe it's just me but that is what I am feeling right now.
I don't think that the TOS will elimnate all bots and battle helper but I believe it's a step in the good direction to make the game fun again.
The game has gotten better ever since the team took this step and removed the bots, now people are loving playing it a lot more and its land gameplay is also going to make up for it. People are very happy and we will see a lot of new users flocking to it in the near future.
I started to enjoy the game again, when I have actually a chance to win some battles :-)

Hmm I have always been playing in Wild. Surprisingly I never had issues with win rates or with bots actually. My win rates has always been well above 50%. This season is even crazier. 18 out of 22 wins so far but maybe it's a small sample size.

In Wild the bots and battle helpers are still allowed and active. I don't think that for you the difference will be very big.

I am happy with the change in terms of service. I play all modern at this point and enjoy the challenge. Checking the leaderboard I am 192nd in Silver league.

Battle Helpers are still being used for sure, and are pretty unfair. It's also really tough as a new player with weaker cards to make much headway, unless I get lucky with opponents who are more on my level I do a lot of losing which makes it tough to rack up more chests and ultimately better cards. Just gotta keep grinding! Good luck everybody, good post!
In bronze and even in silver league it's often the cards that make the difference. An idea is to create some posts on hive and use this money to purchase cards to power up your deck.
