Since the introduction of the wild / modern format, I only played wild. I suddenly realized that this was a big mistake that will take a lot of time, energy and money to correct.

I think this will be an issue for me if I ever go back to wild format but I don't think it will bother me that much because I don't think I will be going back from modern.

I first didn't realize how I was falling in modern and I have actually a powerful modern deck. It's pretty difficult to climb back in the ranking. So I will try to keep both formats at a high level to have an alternative.
Both formats have their pros and cons, the big problem is to maintain the capture rate. Like there are less bots in the modern format so you never know what player strategy will be.
In wild it is pretty easy to predict the bot's strategy and win.

I've been mostly playing modern but I think I need to consider wild too. I bought a few cards that cant be utilised in modern so that would be fun to test them out.
What do you not like about battling the bots?
I'm not playing efficiently in bronze league because I'm used to the abilities of certain cards and then I forget I don't have them at this level. This makes it actually quite difficult to play optimized bot decks that have a good lineup with lvl 1 summoners.
OK, I was thinking you generally didn't like playing against bots, but for sure when you cant utilise those more powerful cards, its no good.. I am facing the same situation now with my upgraded Queen Mycelia. But I rent her until I can optimise my deck how I need it.!!
I was watching the SplinterlandsTV today and they were saying you can tell the bots as they usually have the standard level1 cards so a few exotic legendaries (not upgraded I guess) help dispose of them and you can spot their tactics easily. But Im still too new to understand fully yet.. lol
That's exactly how I managed to beat the bots, mainly by using Kron The Undying. Even at level 1, it's damn powerful :-)

No, just Obsidian Kron. But this is already powerful enough in most cases. I had my lama rented out so far:-)
I still need a strategy to defeat the Scarred Llama Mage and Kron the Undying combo when the Max Mana of the Battle is within 17 to 19 Mana. 🤯😅 !LUV

I'm playing only Wild and as you said the difficulty has increased a lot, some of my colleagues in Premiere are also struggling to be on Gold/Diamond, actually only one of our players is in Champs and it's a great achievement to get to Champs before the 8 or 9 day of the season.
I have the feeling that the algorithm has been adapted so that it gets much more difficult to reach champions league. I don't even try it until like 4 days before the end of the season.
Now I see what you meant in another post about playing your top summoners in bronze league...
Well, I understand your point because you hit a wall in Wild. But I tried a few games in Modern when I had it at the same level as Wild, and trust me, it was WAY HARDER than Wild. Sure, these things could fluctuate and it's better to have the options.
Personally, I'll stick to Wild.
I have been playing modern for a couple of days and I managed to have 18 streak win lol. In wild I don't pass 50% at the moment and I'm stuck in diamond 3 for ages now.

I have checked my modern selection of cards and it was not as I expected.
The wild format is my preferred format for the moment.
I still don't know if it's better to play both formats or just the one your are better equiped for.
I currently play both formats. I do it because in Modern you run into groups of players with maxed summoners for the level(Silver/Gold). My mostly Bronze deck has a hard time playing against some of those accounts. When I hit 2 or 3 losses in one league I switch to the other league and see if it looks better.
I also have noticed that Wild is paying more than twice the amount per RP than Modern.
I am currently at Gold 3 in both leagues.
I question if they have implemented the pools per league. I didn't see any change when I advanced between leagues in payout per RP. If truly pooled it should have shifted due to different number of players in each league.

That's very interesting. I believe the pools are the same size in both formats. That would mean that there are more players in Gold in Modern than in Wild. I think that this ratio changes at higher leagues.
I agree. Wild in Gold 3 seems to be mostly bots at this point level 1 and 2 summoners.
Modern in Gold 3 I am seeing mostly level 3 and 4 summoners with an occasional level 6.
We are toward the end of the season so most dedicated players are maxing out their league. I took a week vacation so I missed the first 5 days of season.

Hehe I also have the same issue. My Modern rating has dropped to Bronze 3 after not touching for a few seasons. But I guess that's fine, I will just stick to Wild since it's too much effort to bring my Modern rating up.
P.S. The Bronze leagues are pretty challenging actually because all the bots are probably coded to have the optimised lineups. I usually have to play Bronze after season reset at least for the first 2 or 3 days.
I agree, it's very tricky to beat them in bronze. I had to undelegate my Undying Kron to make the difference :-)
I agree completely, but the necessity of playing in both formats did not become completely clear to me.
It is obvious that you need to change your format when you cannot win there anymore.
But otherwise? -I think it could be advantageous to max out the format you are winning in, is it not?
