DEC-B: is it a good idea?
Two days ago, I saw a proposal post from Splinterlands. I first didn't understand what it was all about and had to read it again to grasp the idea.
In the video, I try to share my thoughts about this proposal and I got a bit carried away...

I think we are very much aligned. The last thing we need is another token.
Especially if the new token doesn't bring any added value to the whole ecosystem... I would prefer to add a 1% DEC burn fee to each transaction on the NFT markets... That would be much more efficient to reduce the DEC supply and it would have a sustainable effect.
I reacted in horror when I heard new token!! You are right, if there is a need to increase the DEC value, something like that makes sense. But im not sure why they need to raise the DEC value tbh! it seems to be doing fine. SPS on the other hand..
I believe that they hope that DEC goes above PEG so that people would start to swap SPS for DEC and burn SPS in the process... Not really sure about that.
Yeah, I think the market needs to decide. I am mostly spending any DEC that I have on cards.

I do not agree with this proposal. It seems like a way to get quick liquidity.
I also have this feeling and it's not a sustainable solution.
more tokens for more tokens is shit idea, i hope they will actually abandon sps haha and all power to dec.
I think there are enough tokens in the game so far. No need to add versions of existing ones lol
I definitely agree that the game has been getting too top heavy.
I've been voting against every voting proposal so far that led to that but obviously the minnows like me have not much say in that.
The game needs to attract new players to grow and everything that has been done isn't going to do that. If anything,
Crypto based games already have a higher hurdle for people joining in as compared to a traditional game where you just click install and play. And now with the crippling DIS-incentives against new players... Well, the numbers speak for themselves don't they?

The best way to dynamise the game is to make sure that everybody earns on the way. Especially the lower leagues. I understand it's not always easy to figure out how to do it without giving an advantage to abusers and bot farms but it seems the people in lower league were more and more disadvantaged and in the end it's where new players start their journey...

I agree. Too many tokens take transparency away from the game.
I don't like it and I just don't like making the game even more complicated. It's a free market and I just don't think it will solve the DEC issues at all.

The best way to give value to DEC would be to inforce an existing mechanisme. For example on each NFT transaction add a 1% burn fee in DEC. That would reduce the DEC supply quite sustainably.
Thanks for sharing. I agree with you too. I think friends who know me well will know how I feel about Splinterlands starting from many months back when they were doing a couple of product launches within a short span of period. Anyway, these days I have converted most of my game assets to Hive assets and I just play for fun as a hobby and with my guild in brawls.
Well I really enjoy to play the game and I didn't participate in any of their sales. When after the successful sales you hear that they need to let go 45% of their stuff... this rings some alarm bells...

i really don't like the idea bro...i think we have enough tokens so my vote would definitely be negative
I have never liked to patch things with temporary projects. If there is an issue it should be dealt in a sustainable way otherwise we will be back in square one before we know it :-)
true! ...i just hope that there is no issue....i watched your video ,and i saw that you have second thoughts about something that they are not telling us
of course there are things that we don't know ....i just hope these things are not critical for the game
for example...if they don't like the current price of DEC, this is an issue with minor value in my opinion
but if there is something else more serious that is keeping DEC value in these levels then yes...this is a problem in which they must figure out a solution
but no matter what the new token DEC-B ,DEC-C , DEC-WHATEVER for sure does not give solutions
You are right. I'm not so worried about the value of DEC but about the reason why such a solution is envisioned... Hope nothing too serious lol
