Unfortunately it seems that it isn't really the case with SL because the oldest cards look kind of lame compaired to the new ones that are issued. I see the prices of these cards fall but I believe that they will find new use cases for the land expansion because of their high CP.

Lucky for us, some of those old cards have much better "burn value" and that could be crucial when lands come in...
