Saludos amigos de #hive y #alienart, espero estén teniendo una increible semana, el día de hoy les comparto mi entrada al concurso semanal de #splinterlands, donde cada semana vemos increíbles ilustraciones de diversos artistas. Esta semana escogí a Drybone Barbarian, un Minotauro de aspecto temible, de apariencia más demoníaca, el cual tiene varias rasgaduras en su cuerpo, las cuales emanan luz, como si su interior o su sangre fuese luminosos. Además posee un gran mazo oscuro como arma, y sólo una hombreras y ciertas partes metálicas bajo el torso, siendo esto mi que tiene como armadura.

Greetings friends of hive and alienart, I hope you are having an amazing week, today I share with you my entry to the splinterlands weekly contest, where every week we see incredible illustrations from various artists. This week I chose Drybone Barbarian, a fearsome looking Minotaur, more demonic in appearance, which has several rips in his body, which emanate light, as if his insides or his blood were luminous. He also has a large dark mace as a weapon, and only a shoulder pads and certain metal parts under the torso, this being my armor.

Para la ilustración decidí ponerlo en una pose donde se pudiera apreciar todo su diseño, y a su vez como si este estuviese gritando como de euforia antes de batallar. También busqué que se viera más su mazo, diseñando la parte superior, basándome en la parte inferior del mismo, a su vez le agregue toques de sangre, como si ya hubiese atacado a algunos guerreros y el mazo quedó manchado con la sangre de ellos. Para el fondo realice humo y nubes, como esos ambientes llenos de fuego, sangre, humo y polvo, pero que al final logra verse en azul del cielo.

For the illustration I decided to put him in a pose where you could appreciate all his design, and at the same time as if he was shouting as if in euphoria before battling. I also tried to make his mallet more visible, designing the upper part, based on the lower part of it, and I added touches of blood, as if he had already attacked some warriors and the mallet was stained with their blood. For the background I made smoke and clouds, like those environments full of fire, blood, smoke and dust, but at the end I could see the blue of the sky.

Realice la pose con el lápiz digital y el color azul, después con el rosado empecé a realizar las facciones y definir al personaje y con el color morado a realizar la base de la armadura y el arma.

I made the pose with the digital pencil and the blue color, then with the pink I started to make the features and define the character and with the purple color to make the base of the armor and the weapon.

Realice el trabajo de línea con el color negro y la tinta dura, luego elimine las capas previas y procedí a realizar la base de color, aplicando los colores correspondientes en cada área.

I did the line work with the black color and the hard ink, then I removed the previous layers and proceeded to do the color base, applying the corresponding colors in each area.

Empecé a detallar el torso, brazos, piernas y rostro del personaje, usando el pincel de acuarela de mezcla, y degrada con entre tonos oscuros y claros. Después detalle el cabello usando unos tonos grises, y tonos más oscuros para dar volumen.

I started detailing the torso, arms, legs and face of the character, using the watercolor blending brush, and degrading with between dark and light tones. Then I detailed the hair using some gray tones, and darker tones to give volume.

Aplique tonos marrones para dar textura a los cuernos, luego detalle la nariz y la boca, usando varios tonos rojizos y dando un aspecto viscoso. Después empecé a detallar la hombreras y luego las telas y partes metálicas bajo el torso.

I applied brown tones to give texture to the horns, then detailed the nose and mouth, using various reddish tones and giving a slimy look. Then I started detailing the shoulder pads and then the fabric and metallic parts under the torso.

Aplique tonos oscuros y claros para darle el aspecto metálico y afilado al arma, luego detalle las telas que recurren al mango, y use rojo para la sangre en ciertas partes del arma. Después con el aerógrafo aplique luces en varias partes del dibujo.

I applied dark and light tones to give the weapon a metallic and sharp look, then I detailed the fabrics that go over the handle, and used red for the blood on certain parts of the weapon. Then with the airbrush apply lights in various parts of the drawing.

Para el fondo realice una base de manchas con el aerógrafo, entre amarillo, azul, rojo y negro. Luego si el pincel de acuarela empecé a darle forma, hasta conseguir el aspecto de nubes y humo.

For the background make a base of spots with the airbrush, between yellow, blue, red and black. Then with the watercolor brush I started to shape it, until I got the aspect of clouds and smoke.

Escogí este personaje ya que me gustan mucho los personajes mitológicos y quería practicar haciendo un personaje masculino pero super tonificado y corpulento, para así salir de mi zona de confort. Busque representar ese aspecto temible del personaje en la ilustración, y que este se viera imponente a simple vista. I chose this character because I really like mythological characters and I wanted to practice making a male character but super toned and corpulent, to get out of my comfort zone. I wanted to represent that fearsome aspect of the character in the illustration, and for him to look imposing to the naked eye.
