Coastal Nymph Fan Art - Splinterlands Art Contest Week 286

avatar

Greetings!

Welcome to another edition of my Splinterlands fan art. This blog contains the process of how I made anime-style digital art. This will be the third fan art that I created. Digital art is delightful and fun but a little bit time-consuming for a beginner like me who just started on digital drawing. In fact, and as I said earlier this is only the third digital art that I ever created for Splinterlands, and what a journey it has been and I am hoping to improve on my digital art. Many thanks to Splinterlands for hosting this fun contest because it is an avenue for us aspiring digital artists to hone our craft (especially for a beginner like me).

Below is the final art that I created. Also, check out the art process below and the reference card that I used.

Art process

I started with an outline for the pose that I wanted and then I followed it up by adding the hair and some of the costume's design.

I continued adding some costume details and then I made a clean outline.

Then I followed it up by coloring the hair and adding some highlights (including the ear ornamental).

I added some hair shadow on the forehead and then I colored the face.

I colored the eyes and put some detailed features on them, I colored the body

Then I put color on the costume and some highlights on the arm.

I thought that the green highlight on the arm was off so I changed it to a shade of blue and continued on the other arm. I put some details on the necklace.

I put some highlights on the chest and the belly

I blurred the lower part of the boobs and then I colored the skirt.

I put colored on the the water spear, added some highlights and it is done.
