The "Strike First!" Strategy
Wands Out Modifier and Rise of the Commons Modifier creates a very limited battle. Only magic units can be used and only Common and Rare units are allowed. Because of this most units have low health and average stats. There are also fewer strong tanks available in this setup. Battles like this usually end quickly since magic damage goes straight to health. Because of this I focused on speed and Execute to remove units fast. The faster you reduce enemy units the less damage your team will take each round.
Battle:

This is a different battle where I use Execute and Speed from Nidhoggr instead of the Blast and Deathblow. The combination of Wands Out modifier and Rise of the Commons modifier limited the choice of units in this battle. There is no tank and most of the units have low health. So, I decided to use Execute and +2 Speed on Mad Kaboomist, Stonebind Matron and Quillstorm Mage. This allowed these three units to attack first and do another attack to these units when they get to 2 health or lower. Eliminating the units fast reduces the damage they can do to my team. This is important because as I mentioned, units don't have a lot of health with the modifiers imposed in this battle. Reducing the number of the attackers allow you to reduce the damage your team takes every round.

Modifier 1: Wands Out: Only units with magic attacks may be used.

Modifier 2: Rise of the Commons: Only Common and Rare Units may be used in battles.
My Lineup:
With the Wands Out Modifier and Rise of the Commons Modifier limiting my units of choosing my lineup for this battle is simple and direct. I chose Nidhoggr's Execute and +2 speed given to the 3 most powerful units I can have. This allows me to kill the lower health units faster which reduces the damage to my team. Since there are no reliable tanks I placed the higher health units at the front. The lower health units were placed at the back so they can deal damage safely. This lineup focuses more on speed and early elimination instead of defense and long rounds.
Nidhoggr: This is a strong archon which gives you two options for abilities. You can either give Blast and Deathblow to 3 units or +2 speed and Execute to 3 units. In this battle, I chose the second set because of the low health of the enemy units from the modifiers. The extra speed helps my units attack first and Execute allows them to finish enemies quickly. Nidhoggr also reduces the enemy team's health and armor by 1 which makes Execute easier to trigger. This overall improves my fast game strategy.
Time Bandit: One of the high health magic damage units available in this battle. Time Bandit has low damage but is a good unit if you need a magic unit with tanky stats. Since Wands Out Modifier removes non magic units I needed someone that can stay in front longer. Time Bandit fits this role even without strong abilities. It also has Cleanse although that is not useful in this battle. Still its higher health makes it a decent frontline unit.
Conclave Tracker: I chose him because of the Opportunity ability. It has low damage but targetting low health units is my priority for this battle. With Rise of the Commons Modifier many enemy units have low health. Opportunity helps chip them down so Execute can trigger faster. This unit supports my plan of removing enemies quickly. Even with low damage the targeting makes it valuable.
Quillstorm Mage: Another Opportunity magic unit which fits the strategy. It also has 1 magic damage like Conclave Tracker. I gave it the extra speed and Execute for the plan I was thinking for this battle. With faster speed it can attack before most enemies. When enemies drop to low health Execute allows another attack. This makes Quillstorm Mage more dangerous than its base stats suggest.
Stonebind Matron: It has 2 magic damage and Opportunity which is very useful here. Stonebind Matron has less health but higher damage so I gave it the second Execute and extra speed from Nidhoggr. The higher damage helps bring enemies to Execute range faster. With Opportunity, it can focus weak targets immediately. Even though it is fragile, the extra speed helps it attack first. This increases its value in this kind of battles.
Mad Kaboomist: Mad Kaboomist also has 2 magic damage but Snipe instead of Opportunity. Since there is Wands Out Modifier, placing him in the last position is okay. There would be no magic damage with Sneak due to Water Element not being allowed in this battle. With the higher magic damage, I gave it the last Execute and extra speed from Nidhoggr. Snipe helps target backline units which are usually weaker. This helps reduce enemy damage dealers early which helps with my original strategy.
Wands Out Modifier and Rise of the Commons Modifier made this battle fast and tricky. Using speed and Execute helped me secure kill enemies before they can deal too much damage. Because of early eliminations, I was able to win the battle by reducing their overall damage which is important since no one has good tanks in this battle due to the modifiers.
