WWE Raw Deal Trading Card Game: A Trip Down Memory Lane

Reliving WWE Raw Deal Trading Card Game Memories

Trading Card Games (TCG) have an extraordinary ability to captivate people worldwide. While many may immediately think of iconic franchises like Pokemon, the world of Professional Wrestling had its own captivating card game - WWE Raw Deal TCG. In this blog post, I'm thrilled to share my personal voyage through collecting and playing the WWE Raw Deal TCG, recount the cherished memories it left me with, and explain how my enthusiasm for this genre was recently rekindled through an unexpected rediscovery 🤗

The WWE Raw Deal TCG Phenomenon

The WWE Raw Deal TCG, originally introduced by Comic Images in 2000, quickly became a sensation among professional wrestling fans. Just as Pokemon had its creatures, WWE Raw Deal featured legendary wrestlers on its cards. The allure lay in amassing cards showcasing beloved WWE superstars, with each card capturing their in-ring prowess, charisma, and signature moves! 😍

These cards transcended being mere game pieces; they evolved into coveted treasures. Rare cards, particularly those featuring iconic wrestlers, became the crowning jewels of many collectors. These cards were symbols of cherished moments in wrestling history and often garnered substantial value among enthusiasts 🤑

Long Overdue Rediscovery

This post has been a long time coming, largely due to the demands of my work, frequent travels, and the busyness of life. Additionally, locating the images of my previously owned cards, which I had stored away on a hard drive just before I parted with them, proved to be a challenge. I also made a promise to @acidyo that I would share a blog about my cards, but I had been procrastinating until recently when a wave of nostalgia for WWE Raw Deal TCG came crashing back! 😅

The catalyst for this resurgence of interest was a serendipitous event:

Dwayne “THE ROCK” Johnson had made a surprise return to the WWE!

I stumbled upon an article / video about Dwayne Johnson making a WWE appearance on Friday, September 15, 2023.

Inspired by this video, which gave me goosebumps throughout its entirety, I found myself reminiscing about the electrifying battles and cherished moments this card game had offered. It was time to dust off my hard disk and relive those memories! 😁

Unwrapping the WWE Raw Deal TCG

My introduction to the world of WWE Raw Deal TCG was nothing short of exhilarating. I vividly recall the rush of excitement when tearing open booster packs, revealing my favorite wrestlers in card form. Much like the Pokemon card battles of my childhood, my friends and I would gather after school, transforming ordinary spaces into our wrestling arenas with makeshift tables and chairs, engaging in epic card duels. The game wasn't merely about strategy; it was a vehicle for reliving the fervor of WWE matches and forging lasting bonds with fellow fans 😊

As with Pokemon, my passion for WWE Raw Deal TCG grew exponentially. I would allocate my allowances to buy more booster packs, often trading cards with friends to complete my ultimate deck. One of my most treasured decks of course featuring my childhood hero, The Rock (The People's Champ). His charisma and electrifying moves extended beyond the ring, making him a force to be reckoned with in my card battles! 💪

As I dived deeper into my collection of images stored on my hard drive, I uncovered not just cards but also a treasure trove of memories. Decks belonging to The Rock (The People's Champ) and Eddie Guerrero etc, once locked in intense card battles, now rekindled the spirit of competition in my heart. I marveled at the vast diversity of wrestlers, their signature moves, and the strategic depth of the game! 😝

Please pardon the lousy images captured as this was done like 10+ years ago while trying to sell my cards!

Life's Interruptions

As life advanced, my fervor for WWE Raw Deal TCG, much like my Pokemon cards, gradually waned. The responsibilities of adulthood, educational pursuits, work, and family commitments took precedence, causing my beloved cards to be relegated to a dusty corner of my memories. During a period of transition, many of my prized WWE Raw Deal cards found new homes as I embraced the new chapters unfolding in my life 😖

A Path Forward and a New Discovery

The WWE Raw Deal TCG may have taken a backseat in my life for a while, but its impact on my love for Trading Card Games and Wrestling remains indelible. It's remarkable how a simple rediscovery can reignite a passion and rekindle memories of thrilling battles and camaraderie with friends! 😎

Furthermore, thanks to @acidyo, I was introduced to @WrestOrgOnline, where I learned about an exciting play-to-earn business management game. This game enables players to construct their own Wrestling Organization by acquiring wrestlers, upgrading facilities, and competing to earn more of the game's own token, $WOO. Although I have not yet embarked on this gaming journey, it presents an intriguing opportunity in the world of wrestling and gaming. If time permits, I may explore it in the future, especially considering that a close friend of mine, @blitzzzz, is actively involved in this game.

While I treasure the memories of WWE Raw Deal TCG, I am also excited about the new horizons that await. Just as the Pokemon Trading Card Game led me to WWE Raw Deal TCG, I eagerly anticipate diving back into the world of Trading Card Games in the form of Splinterlands and discovering what lies ahead. After all, the allure of Trading Card Games, with their unique blend of strategy and nostalgia, is a journey that never truly ends! ✌️

Looking back at some of these old cards are so crazy. Once in a while I go through my collection and I find some odd ball collections and wonder how I ever got into it lol Alf cards for example.

Not sure I've run into any WWE cards though but they might hold some value? Seems like it's making a little bit of a comeback again but still far from where it once was with major icons in the industry. Does this mean you're into the WOO game here on hive?

HAHA Alf cards?! Have no idea what is that and even after Googling it, still got no idea what that is 🤣

Yeah definitely nostalgic looking back at these precious memories! Not exactly sure what their value is right now, but I would think that those cards representing the major icons would worth alot more nowadays since they are technically out of print? 🤔

Oh like I mentioned in the post, I heard about the game but have yet to find time to dabble in the project. Looks interesting though. Are you playing it?

It was a realllllly old TV show lol

I'm a little into the woo game not heavily though. But it does look promising and well done so far for the theme.
