Larry Is Alive February 12, 2024: I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for monday, the 12th day of February, 2024. Happy new week everyone.

There is only one match today in the EPL (Monday night football). Crystal Palace will face Chelsea tonight by 20:00 GMT at Selhurst Park, England.

Now, Chelsea could win 13 league games in a row against the same opponent for the first time in the club history. While Crystal Palace on their own have lost three of their last five Premier League games, although they might equal the club's Premier League record of three consecutive home league victories should they win tonight.

Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from the Republic of North Macedonia. He finds out that on this day in 2019, The Republic of Macedonia officially changed its name to the Republic of North Macedonia in accordance with the Prespa Agreement (2018).

From North Macedonia, Larry goes to the world of international crimes and trials. He finds out that on this day in 2002, Slobodan Milošević, Yugoslavia's president from 1997-2000, was on trial for war crimes at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague. He died four years later, before the trial concluded.

From the world of international crimes and trails, Larry goes to Norway. He finds out that on this day in 1994, thieves stormed into Oslo's National Gallery and stole The Scream (which was eventually recovered), one of multiple versions of Norwegian artist Edvard Munch's most renowned artwork.

From Norway, Larry goes to China. He finds out that on this day in 1912, the last emperor of China, Puyi, abdicated at the end of the Chinese Revolution.

From China, Larry goes to England. He finds out that on this day in 1975, Charles Darwin, a British naturalist who developed the theory of evolution through natural selection, was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from Australia. He finds out that on this day in 1851, Gold was discovered in east-central New South Wales, resulting in Australia's first gold rush.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
