Larry Is Alive January 31, 2024: I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for wednesday the 31st day of January, 2024. It was an amazing night for Liverpool as they crushed Chelsea (4-1) ins tonight's EPL game. Manchester City also best Burnley (3-1) at Etihad Stadium while Tottenham Hotspur defeated Brendford (3-2).

Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from England. He finds out that on this day in 1606, Guy Fawkes, a British provocateur and one of the Gunpowder Plot conspirators who sought to blow up Parliament and assassinate King James I for his repression of Roman Catholics, was executed in London.

From England, Larry goes to Scotland. He finds out that on this day in 2001, Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, a Libyan national, was convicted in the 1988 Pan Am flight 103 bombing that saw 270 people killed; in 2009, the Scottish government released Megrahi from prison custody after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

From Scotland, Larry goes to France. He finds out that on this day in 1977, the Pompidou Centre, named for former president Georges Pompidou, was opened in Paris.

From France, Larry goes to the world of music and entertainment. He finds out that on this day in 1981, Justin Timberlake, an American singer and actor, was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a member of the hugely successful "boy band" NSYNC before embarking on a solo career.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from England. He finds out that on this day in 2020, the United Kingdom formally exited the European Union, more than three years after the country voted for "Brexit."

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
