# Learning the Ropes - Splinter Stats Season 58 Report Card
Still not really sure if I know what I'm doing most of the time but I'm having fun anyway and everything's starting to click into place.

Returning from a long break and it was hard to catch a win; I remember in one sitting, having 9 or 10 losses in a row. It wasn't an impressive season by any means.

Received 5 reward chests for gaining a level - 3 cards, 1 potion and some DEC. The 3 reward cards were PELACOR DECEIVER (Death Monster), GARGOYA LION (Neutral Monster) and PELACOR MERCENARY (Earth Monster). All 3 were a welcome addition to my small collection
During a HIVE AUSTRALIA meet-up, I had the opportunity to talk 'Splinterlands' with @shaidon who was a wealth of knowledge especially about the marketplace and card rentals. This season was the first time I've rented out my cards and I'm very happy to see that I've earned some revenue during this season. It's not much but it's a start.
@shaidon also took the time to explain the SPS airdrop, which has really added a whole new dimension to the game. It encourages me to log in more often, and while I'm there I might as well have a battle or two, then I might as well try to complete my quest, then I might as well try to level up and, well... you know how it goes.
This season was a real turn-around for me. Up to this point, I felt like I didn't really understand what I was doing which used to put me off playing. Now that I've learnt a little bit more about the game as a whole, I feel much more confident and since I spend more time playing, I'm starting to learn a lot more about the cards, along with their stats and abilities.
