The price of the Splinterlands node license is pretty absurd imo

$5000 for a node license seems absurd to me. Yeah, maybe when the initial pricing was determined years ago, then it made sense. Now? It doesnt, to me anyway. I dont know jack about the back end of how this works, alls i know is Ive always wanted a license, and $5k makes it laughably outside of my price range.
And if I recall, that 4992 licenses remaining hasnt budged for a couple years. How many licenses have sold in the last couple years?
Im a massive advocate of decentralization, and i really enjoy this game, ive staked my SPS constantly for years because I like owning a part of the game I really enjoy. I'd love to additionally support it by delegating some hardware/housing/electricity/network to help further decentralize the network.
Is that something that @splinterlands wants though? I'm not casting shade or anything, I'm just perplexed. If I could submit a proposal to drastically lower the cost by at least a factor of 10x (and even $500 is too much for me in my current financial situation to just yeet for a license)
But is @splinterlands seeking more decentralization or is it just happy where its at?
Has the Node Program launched?
