¡Saludos comunidad! En el reto de esta semana quiero compartir con ustedes una estrategia utilizando el Splinter de Fuego para batallas con un límite de maná bajo, específicamente de 18 puntos, y la regla: “Up Close & Personal”. Hago énfasis en esos aspectos del conjunto de reglas porque son los que me condujeron a la elaboración de la estrategia.

En esta oportunidad, les explicaré cómo afronté una batalla de ranked de la liga de Plata en el formato Moderno, enfocándome en destacar la importancia de tomar en cuenta el conjunto de reglas para formar nuestras estrategias. Adicionalmente del conjunto de habilidades que deseemos combinar.

Ya que estos aspectos son un factor clave con un impacto considerable en el desempeño de nuestras estrategias.

Forgotten One es un monstruo que en su nivel 5, cuenta con buenos atributos, y posee las habilidades: “Immunity” y “Retaliate”. Las cuales lo hacen inmune a los efectos negativos de las habilidades, y le permite contraatacar cuando recibe daño físico con una probabilidad de hacerlo de un 50 %, respectivamente.

Flame Monkey es un monstruo que en su nivel 5, no cuenta con unos atributos elevados pero su costo de maná 1, y su habilidad “Repair” lo compensan.

Antoid Platoon es un monstruo que en su nivel 5, cuenta con unos atributos medios, y posee la habilidad “Shield”.

Particularmente, considero que la combinación de éstas cartas es una buena opción para aquellas batallas donde el conjunto de reglas sólo permite utilizar daño físico, y establece un límite de maná bajo, específicamente de 18 puntos. ¿Por qué? Pues, esta combinación proporciona una estrategia en la que nuestro tanque tiene la posibilidad de atacar 2 veces en un turno, y además de ello, su escudo será reparado, por lo que varios de los ataques del enemigo serán anulados. Asimismo, también nos protege de posibles ataques “Sneak” reduciendo su daño, lo que proporciona un poco más de tiempo para debilitar al enemigo.

Hablemos sobre el conjunto de reglas presentes en la batalla, este es el punto de partida para iniciar el análisis que nos llevará a la elección más adecuada para afrontar la batalla.

Límite de maná igual a 18 puntos, esta cantidad implica que debemos ser más precisos en nuestra elección. Por lo que usar invocadores con un costo de maná de 4 puntos o menos, es una buena opción, ya que nos permitirá distribuir de una mejor manera la cantidad de puntos restantes para la selección de monstruos.

La regla Up Close & Personal establece que sólo se pueden utilizar monstruos con daño físico en la batalla. Por otra parte, la regla Reverse Speed como su nombre lo indica, invierte la prioridad de ataque respecto a la cantidad de velocidad que posea cada monstruo, resultando que los monstruos con menor velocidad atacarán primero, y los monstruos con mayor velocidad atacarán después.

Entonces, teniendo en cuenta todos estos aspectos, decidí elegir al Splinter de fuego para utilizar la combinación mencionada anteriormente.

Hablemos sobre el equipo, y la estrategia que conforma. Dado a las circunstancias de la batalla que sólo estaba permitido usar daño físico, surge la importancia de incrementar el nuestro o reducir el del enemigo. Asimismo, como aumentar los puntos de vida de nuestro equipo. Es por ello que decidí utilizar a Tarsa como invocador.

Forgotten One fue el tanque en esta oportunidad, la idea era aprovechar sus buenos atributos, y sobre todo su habilidad “Retaliate” para hacer un ataque extra al enemigo. Teniendo en cuenta que sus puntos de armadura anularían varios ataques del enemigo.

Flame Monkey ocupó la segunda posición con el propósito de dar soporte a Forgotten One y Antoid Platoon mediante su habilidad “Repair”. De esta forma, serían más los ataques anulados del enemigo.

Antoid Platoon ocupó la última posición con la finalidad de proteger al resto del equipo de posibles ataques de tipo “Sneak” del enemigo. Reduciendo el daño mediante su habilidad “Shield”.

Tal y como les mencioné anteriormente, usar un invocador que incremente el daño físico y la vida de nuestro equipo, es una buena opción. También es importante incluir habilidades de soporte que le permitan a nuestro tanque y al resto del equipo resistir lo suficiente.

Observen como para el turno 8 de la ronda 3, el equipo enemigo estaba casi abatido. Forgotten One acabó con los monstruos enemigos uno a uno, aprovechando su habilidad “Retaliate” lo mejor posible. Por otra parte, Antoid Platoon también cumplió muy bien su función de proteger al equipo de los ataques “Sneak” enemigos. Asimismo, esto fue posible gracias al soporte de Flame Monkey mediante su habilidad “Repair”.

La estrategia planteada hizo un uso eficiente de la cantidad de maná disponible, cubriendo aspectos tales como: resistencia contra el daño enemigo, soporte del equipo, una buena ofensiva, y coherencia con el conjunto de reglas presente.

Una debilidad de esta estrategia es una ofensiva enemiga que incluya la habilidad “Opportunity”, ya que el primer objetivo sería Flame Monkey, y una vez abatido, se perdería el soporte mediante la habilidad “Repair”. Por lo que existe la posibilidad de que nuestro tanque sea abatido.

La diferencia entre las estrategias fue que el enemigo no incluyó habilidades como: “Retaliate”, “Repair” y “Opportunity”. Lo que resultó en una gran desventaja para él, llevándolo a la derrota.

Para una adecuada sinergia de nuestras estrategias es importante considerar todos los aspectos involucrados, por lo que no sólo debemos enfocarnos en los atributos y habilidades a combinar. También debemos tener en cuenta la influencia de los conjuntos de reglas sobre la estrategia.

In this week's challenge I want to share with you a strategy using the Fire Splinter for battles with a low mana limit, specifically 18 points, and the rule: "Up Close & Personal". In this opportunity, I will explain how I faced a Silver league ranked battle in the Modern format, focusing on highlighting the importance of taking into account the rule set to form our strategies. In addition to the set of skills we want to combine.

Forgotten One is a monster that at level 5, has good attributes, and possesses the abilities: "Immunity" and "Retaliate". These make it immune to the negative effects of the abilities, and allow it to counterattack when it receives physical damage with a 50% chance of doing so, respectively.

Flame Monkey is a monster that at level 5, does not have high attributes but its mana cost 1, and its ability "Repair" compensate for it.

Antoid Platoon is a monster that, at level 5, has medium attributes, and possesses the "Shield" ability.

I particularly consider that the combination of these cards is a good option for those battles where the rule set only allows the use of physical damage, and sets a low mana limit, specifically 18 points. Why? Well, this combination provides a strategy in which our tank has the possibility of attacking 2 times in a turn, and in addition to that, its shield will be repaired, so that several of the enemy's attacks will be nullified. It also protects us from possible "Sneak" attacks by reducing their damage, which gives us a little more time to weaken the enemy.

Let's talk about the set of rules present in the battle, this is the starting point to begin the analysis that will lead us to the most appropriate choice to face the battle.

Mana limit equal to 18 points, this amount implies that we must be more precise in our choice. So using summoners with a mana cost of 4 points or less is a good option, since it will allow us to distribute in a better way the amount of remaining points for the selection of monsters.

The Up Close & Personal rule states that only monsters with physical damage can be used in battle. On the other hand, the Reverse Speed rule, as its name suggests, reverses the attack priority with respect to the amount of speed each monster possesses, resulting in monsters with lower speed attacking first, and monsters with higher speed attacking later.

So, taking all these aspects into account, I decided to choose the Fire Splinter to use the combination mentioned above.

Let's talk about the equipment, and the strategy it conforms. Given the circumstances of the battle that only physical damage was allowed, the importance of increasing our own or reducing the enemy's damage arises. Also, how to increase the health points of our team. That is why I decided to use Tarsa as a summoner.

Forgotten One was the tank in this opportunity, the idea was to take advantage of his good attributes, and especially his ability "Retaliate" to make an extra attack to the enemy. Taking into account that his armor points would nullify several enemy attacks.

Flame Monkey occupied the second position with the purpose of supporting Forgotten One and Antoid Platoon with his "Repair" ability. In this way, more attacks would be nullified by the enemy.

Antoid Platoon occupied the last position in order to protect the rest of the team from possible "Sneak" attacks from the enemy. Reducing the damage by means of his "Shield" ability.

As I mentioned before, using a summoner that increases the physical damage and life of our team is a good option. It is also important to include support abilities that allow our tank and the rest of the team to resist enough.

Note how by turn 8 of round 3, the enemy team was almost down. Forgotten One finished off the enemy monsters one by one, taking advantage of his "Retaliate" ability as best as possible. On the other hand, Antoid Platoon also fulfilled its function of protecting the team from enemy "Sneak" attacks very well. This was also possible thanks to Flame Monkey's support through his "Repair" ability.

The strategy proposed made efficient use of the amount of mana available, covering aspects such as: resistance against enemy damage, team support, a good offensive, and coherence with the present set of rules.

A weakness of this strategy is an enemy offensive that includes the "Opportunity" skill, since the first target would be Flame Monkey, and once downed, support would be lost through the "Repair" skill. So there is a chance that our tank will be shot down.

The difference between the strategies was that the enemy did not include abilities such as: "Retaliate", "Repair" and "Opportunity". This resulted in a great disadvantage for him, leading him to defeat.

For a proper synergy of our strategies it is important to consider all the aspects involved, so we should not only focus on the attributes and skills to combine. We must also take into account the influence of the rule sets on the strategy.
