¡Saludos comunidad! El reto de ésta semana es sobre una regla de batalla que sólo permite utilizar cartas con un costo de maná 4 o menos. Por lo que tomar en cuenta éste aspecto en el análisis para formar nuestras estrategias, es un factor clave con un impacto considerable en el desempeño de las mismas. Es importante recordar que el tipo de ofensiva a utilizar en nuestras estrategias también dependerá del resto del conjunto de reglas presentes en la batalla.

En ésta oportunidad les explicaré cómo afronté una batalla de ranked de la liga de Plata en el formato Moderno bajo éstas circunstancias, enfocando mi análisis en explicar la estrategia que utilicé con el Splinter de Tierra.

La regla de batalla de ésta semana es “Little League” que combinada con la estrategia adecuada puede darnos la ventaja en nuestras batallas.

Little League es una regla que sólo permite utilizar monstruos e invocadores con un costo de maná igual a 4 puntos o menos.

Debido a ésto, no tendremos disponibles muchas cartas, por lo que es importante tomar en cuenta el resto de reglas presentes en la batalla para la elección de la ofensiva a utilizar, ya sea basada en daño cuerpo a cuerpo, a distancia o mágica, como también los aspectos de resistencia y soporte de la estrategia.

Hablemos sobre el conjunto de reglas presentes en la batalla, éste es el punto de partida para iniciar el análisis que nos llevará a la elección más adecuada para afrontar la batalla.

Límite de maná igual a 40 puntos, ésta cantidad nos da mucha holgura para la selección de monstruos e invocadores, y ésto se debe específicamente a la presencia de la regla Little League. Por otra parte, la regla Taking Sides, no permite utilizar cartas de tipo Neutral.

Entonces, tomando en cuenta todos éstos factores, decidí utilizar al Splinter de “Tierra”, ya que cuenta con monstruos con unos atributos medios y bajos pero con un buen daño mágico y físico. Asimismo, también cuenta con habilidades como: “Magic Reflect”, “Strengthen”, “Opportunity”, “Protect”, “Amplify”, “Blind”, “Martyr”, “Void”, “Camouflage” y con un invocador que incrementa el daño mágico en 1 punto.

Hablemos sobre el equipo, y la estrategia que conforma. Dadas las circunstancias de la batalla, una buena opción es utilizar una ofensiva basada en daño mágico. Es por ello que decidí utilizar al Invocador “Obsidian” para incrementar en 1 punto el daño mágico del equipo.

Failed Summoner fue el tanque en ésta oportunidad, ya que cuenta con atributos medios, y la habilidad “Magic Reflect”. La cual le permite regresar parte del daño mágico recibido.

Epona ocupó la segunda posición con el propósito de incrementar en 1 punto la vida del equipo, y protegerlo en cuando el tanque caiga.

Venari Scout ocupó la tercera posición con la finalidad de contribuir con el daño desde la segunda fila mediante su habilidad “Opportunity”.

Queen Mycelia ocupó la cuarta posición con el propósito de contribuir con el daño desde la segunda línea, y dar soporte al equipo mediante sus habilidades: “Protect” y “Magic Reflect”. Las cuales incrementan en 2 puntos el escudo del equipo, e incrementa en 1 punto el daño retornado por la habilidad “Magic Reflect”, respectivamente.

Fungus Flinger ocupó la quinta posición con la finalidad de contribuir con el daño desde la segunda fila, y dar soporte al equipo mediante sus habilidades: “Blind” y “Martyr”. Asimismo, también protege al equipo de los ataques “Sneak” enemigos.

Djinn Biljka ocupó la última posición con el propósito de contribuir con el daño desde la segunda fila.

Tal y como les comenté anteriormente, utilizar un invocador que incremente el daño mágico de nuestro equipo en 1 punto, es una buena opción. Sin embargo, también es importante incluir habilidades de soporte que le permitan a nuestro tanque y al resto del equipo resistir lo suficiente.

Observen como para el turno 4 de la ronda 2, el equipo enemigo estaba casi abatido. Failed Summoner cumplió su propósito, resistiendo lo suficiente y retornando el daño mágico del enemigo amplificado gracias al soporte otorgado por Queen Mycelia. Por otra parte, Epona llegó a la primera posición para dar tiempo al resto del equipo para terminar de abatir al enemigo.

La estrategia planteada hizo un uso eficiente de la cantidad de maná disponible, cubriendo aspectos tales como: resistencia contra el daño enemigo, soporte del equipo, una buena ofensiva, y coherencia con el conjunto de reglas presente.

Una debilidad de ésta estrategia es una ofensiva enemiga basada en combatir el daño mágico. Ya que tendría la capacidad de resistir lo suficiente para abatir a nuestro equipo.

La diferencia entre las estrategias fue que el enemigo usó monstruos mágicos muy débiles en su segunda fila. Además de eso, no incluyó más monstruos que atacarán mi segunda fila.

Para una adecuada sinergia de nuestras estrategias es importante considerar todos los aspectos involucrados, por lo que no sólo debemos enfocarnos en los atributos y habilidades a combinar. También debemos tener en cuenta la influencia de los conjuntos de reglas sobre la estrategia.

In this opportunity I will explain how I faced a Silver league ranked battle in the Modern format under these circumstances, focusing my analysis in explaining the strategy I used with the Earth Splinter.

This week's battle rule is "Little League" which combined with the right strategy can give us the advantage in our battles.

Because of this, we will not have many cards available, so it is important to take into account the rest of the rules present in the battle for the choice of the offensive to use, whether based on melee, ranged or magic damage, as well as the resistance and support aspects of the strategy.

Let's talk about the set of rules present in the battle, this is the starting point to begin the analysis that will lead us to the most appropriate choice to face the battle.

Mana limit equal to 40 points, this amount gives us a lot of slack for the selection of monsters and summoners, and this is specifically due to the presence of the Little League rule. On the other hand, the Taking Sides rule does not allow the use of Neutral cards.

So, taking all these factors into account, I decided to use the "Earth" Splinter, since it has monsters with medium and low attributes but with good magic and physical damage. It also has abilities such as: "Magic Reflect", "Strengthen", "Opportunity", "Protect", "Amplify", "Blind", "Martyr", "Void", "Camouflage" and a summoner that increases magic damage by 1 point.

Let's talk about the equipment, and the strategy it conforms. Given the circumstances of the battle, a good option is to use an offensive based on magic damage. That's why I decided to use Summoner "Obsidian" to increase the team's magic damage by 1 point.

Failed Summoner was the tank in this opportunity, since it has medium attributes, and the ability "Magic Reflect". Which allows him to return part of the magic damage received.

Epona occupied the second position with the purpose of increasing the team's health by 1 point, and protecting it when the tank falls.

Venari Scout took the third position with the purpose of contributing damage from the second row with her "Opportunity" ability.

Queen Mycelia took the fourth position in order to contribute with damage from the second row, and support the team with her abilities: "Protect" and "Magic Reflect". These increase the team's shield by 2 points, and increase the damage returned by the "Magic Reflect" ability by 1 point, respectively.

Fungus Flinger occupied the fifth position in order to contribute with damage from the second row, and support the team with his abilities: "Blind" and "Martyr". He also protects the team from enemy "Sneak" attacks.

Djinn Biljka occupied the last position in order to contribute damage from the second row.

As I mentioned before, using a summoner that increases the magic damage of our team by 1 point is a good option. However, it is also important to include support abilities that allow our tank and the rest of the team to resist enough.

Note how by turn 4 of round 2, the enemy team was almost down. Failed Summoner fulfilled its purpose, resisting enough and returning the enemy's magic damage amplified thanks to the support granted by Queen Mycelia. On the other hand, Epona reached the first position to give the rest of the team time to finish taking down the enemy.

The strategy proposed made an efficient use of the amount of mana available, covering aspects such as: resistance against enemy damage, team support, a good offensive, and coherence with the set of rules present.

A weakness of this strategy is an enemy offensive based on physical damage only, since the effect of the "Target Practice" rule would have no effect, and the proposed strategy would not work at all.

The difference between the strategies was that the enemy used many monsters in his second row of magical and ranged type, which represented a great disadvantage for him given the circumstances of the battle.

For a proper synergy of our strategies it is important to consider all the aspects involved, so we should not only focus on the attributes and skills to combine. We must also take into account the influence of the rule sets on the strategy.
