Hi everyone! It's time for the a weekly battle challenge, and I’ll be doing one this week with the Scavo Firebolt.

About the Monster

Scavo Firebolt
Scavo Firebolt is a rare card with decent damage (2) and also decent amount of health (4) at level 2. It gets the Knockout ability at level 6 and 4 Attack at level 7. I’m using the level 1 version here. As I mentioned in my modern strategy post here, it's a great card to use for the Little League ruleset.

Equalizer: The initial Health of all the Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base health

Only the Fire, Water, Life, Death and Dragon Splinters can be used
Mana Cap: 22

Cards & Line Up

The Summoner
vs
Summoner: Tarsa - This increases the attack and health of my whole deck by 1, and hopefully increases my survivability with the additional health in this ruleset.

PositionNameDescription
1Antoid PlatoonAntoid Platoon is in position 1 because of its Shield ability, which reduces Ranged and Melee damage, and works best as the main tank.
2Xenith MonkXenith Monk is in the second position as the secondary tank and has Heal at level 2, which improves its survivability.
3Scorch FiendIt is 0 mana cost and is here to attract the first damage if the opponent uses Monsters with the Opportunity ability.
4Serpentine SpyPlace in position 4, to make use of the high damage (3+1) and to take advantage of Opportunity ruleset.
5Scavo FireboltPlaced in the second last position, as it has high magic damage (3), which will hopefully help to take out the opponent’s tank fast, especially if he uses a pesky Monster with high dodge
6UraeusPlaced in the last position as it has 2 Attack at level 2, and has the Sneak ability to hit the opponent from the rear.

Strategy

The ruleset in this battle is Equalizer and Little League. That means it will be good to use cards with low health and high attack. So the strategy here is pretty similar to what I mentioned in my Little League ruleset post. The difference here is that the mana cap here does not allow me to use the same set of cards. As such, I opted for Serpentine Spy, Scavo Firebolt and Uraeus as my main attack cards. The Xenith Monk helps to bring the health of all the cards to 6, which is likely to be one of the highest in a Little League ruleset. Uraeus is also pretty crucial for this strategy as it can take out the last card in 2 hits, assuming 6 health each Monster. The Scavo Firebolt is used here as it does good damage. On hindsight, I should have choosen the Spark Pixie instead of the Scavo Firebolt, as it would have allowed me to attack faster even with all the debuffs from the opponent.

Thoughts about the Card

I like the Scavo Firebolt, as it has a decent amount of ranged damage at level 1, and is one of the best cards from the Fire Splinter in the Little League ruleset.
