Rookie Guide for Peakmonsters - Filters a little hidden for a good buy

We are all out for a great deal. Here are a few functions, which are a bit hidden,
but with their help and a little bit of luck you might find something quite valuable.
In this article we will check out the Filters in the Compare section of the buy screen.
Highlighting:

  • Price above burn
  • Gold vs Regular % difference
  • Alpha vs Beta % difference

*Small explanation. Lowest BCX price means, that we are searching for the lowest cost for one card. This takes into consideration combined cards as well.

  • A simple card, which cost $1 has a BCX of $1
  • If card combined out of 10 simple cards costs $9, then this card will have BCX value of $0.9.

As $0.9 < $1, so $0.9 will be listed.
Always check with the magnifying glass how much the card you wish to buy costs.*

Compare by Filters - How to get there

  • Press the "Buy" button in the top left corner (in the orange bracket)

image.png

  • Now select "Compare" on the right side (in the yellow bracket)
  • Now select the filter next to the text "Compare by" (on the top of the blue bracket)

Press the Compare button to see these filters

A drop down menu will appear with additional filtering options.

Filters hidden in the Compare view

Price above burn

This is very similar to the Best CP/cost Ratio. You can see here the cards with the best CPs to buy, but on top of that you can see:

  • Low Price BCX - What is the lowest BCX cost of one card
  • CP per BCX - How much CP will you get with per card
  • Cost above burn - How many DEC you have to pay on top of the burn cost of the card (burn value = how much DEC you would receive, if you convert the card to DEC)
  • Diff - This shows how much more expensive is the card compared to it's burn value

image.png

Why should we use the Price above burn filter?

The Diff is what is interesting here. It is an easy way to see if it a good deal to buy a card for your DEC. I.E if you expect that the DEC value will be lower then the cards burn value.
If the Diff value is lower then 1, then buying the card is the best choice, as even if the card would be converted to DEC, the DEC received would be higher then the card cost!

Gold vs Regular % difference

Here we can check what the price difference between regular foil and gold foil cards of the same type. In some cases it is worthier to buy a gold card, but let me get back to it after I explain the fields:

  • Gold BCX Price - How much does a gold foil card costs on the market/BCX
  • Regular BCX Price - How much does regular foil card costs on the market
  • Diff - This is how much more expensive the gold foil card is compared to the regular foil card

Should I rather buy a gold card?
*The above picture has already the common filter selected.

Why should we use the Gold vs Regular % difference filter?

If we have higher level summoners and plan to acquire higher level cards, then we should always check if it is better to buy a few gold foil cards or multiple regular foil cards! This filter helps with the math.

Example with Undead Badger for Gold vs Regular % difference filter

Let's check the value of 1 regular foil Undead Badger:

  • Press the magnifying glass next to the regular foil price (Yellow bracket).
  • Check BCX to see if it is only 1 card, or a card combined from multiple others (Red arrow)
  • Check the card price (Blue arrow)
    image.png

Now we see that a BCX 1 Undead Badger costs $0.67

Let's check the value of 1 gold foil Undead Badger:

  • Press the magnifying glass next to the regular foil price (Yellow bracket).
  • Check BCX to see if it is only 1 card, or a card combined from multiple others (Red arrow)
  • Check the card price (Blue arrow)

image.png

Now we see that a BCX 1 Undead Badger costs $12.30

This might seem like a bad deal at first, but if we wish to level up our cards, then this gives us a different picture. As shown below a basic gold foil card is level 3, while the regular foil is level 1.

image.png

So if we have the summoner for it, then 14 Undead Badgers need to be combined to get the level of 1 gold foil Undead Badger.
Let's recalculate the prices: $9.66 in regular foil cards gives us the same level card as our gold foil card.

We assume here that we will find 14 regular foil Undead Badgers for the lowest price. The Gold foils value is also higher due to the 10% DEC bonus after a won fight.

Now lets see what would happen if we would like to level up both cards to level 4.

  • We need 30 regular foil cards. That is currently on the current market for: 24 * $0.67 + 6 * $0.72 = $20.40
  • We need 2 gold foil cards, another one was for sale for $12.50 on the market, so that is a total of $24.80 (luckily we have a lvl 4 card on sale as well for $20 on the market).

We can see that at current market prices we can save $0.40 if we buy a level 4 Gold foil Undead Badger in comparison with combining Regular foil cards.
This is a great deal!

EACH RARITY AND EDITION OF CARDS HAS A DIFFERENT GOLD FOIL LEVEL AS WELL AS THE CARDS AMOUNT NEEDED TO LEVEL THEM UP. PLS CHECK THIS BEFORE DOING DECIDING TO BUY A CARD

Alpha vs Beta % difference

I won't go into much detail here, as it is very similar to the previous filter. The main difference is that Alpha cards give a 10% DEC bonus after a won fight, while Beta cards only a 5% DEC bonus. Also you need fewer Alpha card to level up a card:

  • Alpha BCX Price - How much does a a gold foil card costs on the market/BCX
  • Beta BCX Price - How much does single regular foil card costs on the market
  • Diff - This is how much more expensive the Alpha foil card is compared to the Beat foil card.

Why should we use the Gold vs Regular % difference filter?

You might get an Alpha card with the same specs as a Beta card, and receive a +5% bonus on DEC rewards!
