Which are the best cards to buy for POWER - 01/25

This is a continuation on my series monitoring card prices.

Power is derived from the below table:

Pro tip: Promo cards can't be distinguished according to their border styles, but CP value is that of an Alpha card. Always double check a card before putting it on the market to see if it is not by chance a Promo card!

These prices are derived from lvl 1 cards, you might get better prices if you search for higher level cards!

So what cards are the best buys now. We have a restructuration of the market, let's look into it:

• 1st place goes to Regular foil Common and Rare Chaos Legion/3rd Reward cards are the cheapest
• 2nd place goes to Regular foil Epic Chaos Legion/3rd Reward cards
• 3rd place goes to Gold foil Epic Chaos/3rd Reward cards

Summary

The fact that the lowest Power/$ did not change should not fool you. The truth is that most of the cards dropped in value by 10+%. At that time only the regular foil common cards were above 145 $/Power and currently 6 card types fall in that category. If you look into this a little more, then you will discover that these are Reward cards, most probably farmed by bots. But the chaos legion pack cards are also near in value. I believe this is the sweet spot currently, where the market participants believe that the investment is cheap enough to buy up the cards for power.

We had a strong crypto crash, which affects the Splinterland market a lot as well. This lead to the fall of the DEC value, though card prices tried to follow the trend, staying near the double the DEC value for power.

We are at the crossroads now. There are signs that the crypto market will continue to fall and this bubble will burst as risky businesses will receive less funding. And there is a also a way up out of this bottom, as people hope, that the scarcity of Bitcoin and other coins will swing the prices upwards, thus making Bitcoin really the digital gold.

The same situation is with Splinterlands at the moment. We see the slowing down of pack purchases. nearly 1/2 of the packs are sold and only 1/5th of them were opened according to Splintercards.com. It seems the card pack supply was to high. That the packs are being bought by "wanabee investors" rather then players. We have a strong bot infestation in the lower leagues, and no processes/strategies are in place to prepare new players for this environment. Or I would rather say, the strategies are there to see even more bots in game... The problem was already highlighted in other posts as well: for the game to have value we need people to play the game, who are willing to pay for the cards. With the current trend of bots the value of the cards, dec and SPS will fall as soon as there are no new market participants who would like to buy DEC to get into the game. And this worries me a lot.

In case the market would recover we could see the recovery of the game as well and more new players might come into the game. But a marketing campaign is far from enough, the game has to bring valuable to peoples lives - with entertainment - to succeed in the long run. I was not here long enough to know how the Splinterlands team has managed difficulties in the past, so I would more then welcome your thoughts and experience.
