It’s a complete surprise for both sides. This brings me to a question that I’m sure many have asked themselves when starting out:
How do you manage to choose the best possible lineup when you have to prepare for everything that might happen in the arena?
It’s a fascinating mental exercise. You have to weigh your available mana and the active battle rules while simultaneously trying to predict whether your opponent will go for speed, magic, or a devastating physical attack—like the one I had to endure against Qid Yuff. In this match, I went with a balanced strategy, but the unpredictability of the arena shows us that sometimes your opponent’s move fits like a glove to dismantle your board. That uncertainty is what makes every match so addictive!

Conclusions and Lessons Learned: What Went Wrong?

Analyzing the screenshots objectively, I’ve taken away a couple of huge lessons for future Brawls:

1. The Piercing Factor: I underestimated the carryover damage Qid Yuff would deal to my support cards. When armor is no longer a guarantee of absolute survival, healing speed or direct damage must be drastically higher.

2. Rearguard Order: I think a small change in the order of my secondary attackers might have given me an extra round of clean attacks before I was exposed to their fast cards.
   At the end of the day, that’s what Splinterlands is all about: taking a hit, readjusting your strategy, reviewing your deck, and coming back stronger in the next arena.
