When Doctor Blight hunting

what's up Splinter Player around the world how are you doing? I want to share my battle using one of my own account that played in Diamond League Format.And this time, i want to share that in Shades of Gray ruleset battle. The ruleset that really hard to compete and just depending on the completing your card in all edition and RNG. Since the choices is really few cards, player need to arranging cards with the ability and gameplay. Of course with this ruleset, Doctor Blight is the one card that need to be in the line up. Since this monster is really Overpower in this league. Maybe next change of league it will change by Grimbandun Smith.

Okay since you guys know that the ruleset is Shades of Grey lets knowing this ruleset a little bit deeper.This ruleset description is

Only Neutral Units may be used in battles.

Basically both player just can using neutral monster. Which is usually neutral Monster is used to filling and completing the strategy. And with this ruleset player need make the neutral monster to be the main monster as strategy. And it is really hard at least for me. Many times i am losing the battle when this ruleset appear.

Strategy Phase

In this battle of course my main monster is absolutely Doctor Blight. But, i am still need make the combination work. And finding the good tanker, attacker support in only neutral monster is kinda hard. Some of them did not work to make good strategy and sometimes i am just placing monster without thinking anymore and just hope to luck.

Of course in this battle i need bring **Venari Marksrat** to be a filler and support for my main attacker that is Doctor Blight. This monster having martyr ability that can gives buff to adjacent units after this monster died. But, the hardest part is placing this monster in the right place so the adjacent monster that i pick got the buff. Sometimes it wont work, and opponent monster will attacking others first before this monster die. And it will be very useless. Especially when this monster die in late battle. That will be very useless.

Of course i need back attacker thats why i am bringing Uraeus in my line up. This monster having sneak ability that cna attacking opponent backline. Since this ruleset having very limited option. I think both player will hardly find the perfect back defender, and it will be the battle of the RNG of speed and poison effect this time. If i am slower and got poison first. Yeah i am lost. And if i can give opponent poison first. I am having higher chance to win the battle.

Of course i am not renting or having rebellion set in my own account. So, instead bringing Grimbandun Smith i am just bringing Xenith Monk. I think opponent will having same thought with me about the Doctor Blight as main attacker. And playin poison play and affliction is the best option with this ruleset. Thats why i am bringing Xenith Monk that having Magic Reflect ability to make opponent Doctor Blight got damage first and if the last standing monster left is both Doctor Blight. At least my Doctor Blight having more Health than opponent. Also this monster having void ability that can compress any magic damage. So, if opponent Doctor Blight attack it will need several damage first to defeat my Xenith Monk and it will be gives some of magic reflect damage to opponent Doctor Blight.

Okay i am using Gargoya Devil as backline defender and as attacker. This monster having 4 range damage and can be a tanker if placed in first position due the close range ability that this monster has. Also this monster having flying aility that having chance to dodge opponent attack in this case i am hoping the flying ability will work when opponent Uraes can defeat my backliner and this monster be a backliner defender.

Battlephase

This time i am encountered with player that from YGG Brawlers(Asgard) and as far as i know player from YGG Brawlers is really beast. Almost owning all rebellion set. And it will be the hardest part when encountered with them. And this time too. This player using legendary summoner from rebellion set too. And i think i lose this battle especially when the opponent bring rebellion set too into battlefield.

And in this battle as you can see the picture above,having 3 ruleset. The first ruleset is Earthquake that means all monster without having flying ability will get 2 damage each turn and damaging armor first. The second ruleset is Shades of Gray that means both player just can only using Neutral Monster into this battle. The last but not least is Equal Opportunity that means all monster in this battle will having opportunity ability. Manacap that can be used in this battle is 29 which is quite low. And Element that cannot be used is Water and Dragon ability. So, in this ruleset battle what cannot be used is the summoner in that inactive element.

• Doctor Blight as Main Attacker

Opponent Line Up

• Cryptic as Summoner
• Grimbandun Smith as Frontline Tanker
• Doctor Blight as Attacker
• Venari Marksrat as Filler
• Uraeus as Backline Attacker
• Drybone Bowdog as Attacker
• Xenith Archer as Attacker

Looking into opponent line up seems like opponent preparing more than my line up. Also opponent card and summoner is better than my line up. Especially opponent summoner Cryptic that will make my line up hard to beat opponent line up. Also with Grimbandun Smith my team cannot playing Poison play. But, i forgot that the ruleset is Equal Opportunity so, my team will avoiding Grimbandun Smith and hunting opponent lowest health monster first. Hopefully opponent Doctor Blight can defeat first before my Doctor Bligh going to frontline.

The summary of this battle is. I think opponent using Cryptic as summoner going to waste, Since the ruleset is Equal Opportunity. So, it will be useless if gives expose ability to their 2 monster. Since low mana battle and shades of grey ruleset will make no taunt defense monster in my line up. And many player will not having that too. So, the expose will useless in this battle at first. And fortunately opponent Doctor Blight defeat first before my Doctor Blight goes to frontline this time. So, opponent Grimbandun Smith will be the last monster that not have healing ability. So my Doctor Blight and the earthquake ability can defeat opponent Grimbandun Smith this time. And thanks to my Venari Marksrat that can gives buff to my Doctor Blight that can gives more damage to opponent and hunting down opponent first.

Conclution

After experiencing this battle i can make assumption that not every new set summoner and especially legendary summoner can win all the battle against old edition. Sometimes their ability is not fit with the ruleset like this battle. The Expose ability is not fit in this ruleset and will be very useless. Even thought the cryptic main ability is pretty good that can gives blind and -1 speed. If only opponent just gives expose and poison to another monster except Doctor Blight maybe my team can be the lost one since the opponent playing 3 monster that having poison ability. That will make opponent having higher chance to make my team lost due poison.
