I need to addmit that wild format is kinda drained from rewards, but hey this format allow automated play.
Many whale accounts have massive collections and only number of energy can stop them from playing more. So basically they play not only for SPS but for GLINT. They know that SPS is not good here but, they can burn SPS for a battle to 2x their GLINT earnings. Of course small accounts can't cover that without spending extra money, so they should first play frontier then some modern. Wild is not a good for them for this moment, maybe with your changes, which you propose that can be changed, but I don't know.
