# I'm so Wildly Modern! - Splinter Stats Ranked Rewards Season 21 Report Card

What an incredible season last season was for me.
You'll notice that I actually got higher in Modern than I did in Wild this season... obviously by the smallest margin possible, but considering I only just started playing Modern a season and a half ago, I never, ever, ever expected to get into Diamond, let alone Diamond I, with my Modern card collection.

I am baffled by it all.

I think so many more people are playing Wild than Modern, that the competition just isn't super hardcore in Modern but it is crazy fierce in Wild. My Modern streak is double the size of my Wild streak (and streaks really are the only way to get anywhere up the league ladder.

I honestly didn't really notice much of a SPS payout difference between the leagues either. I'm honestly not sure why everyone is hanging out in Wild these days.

I honestly can't get over it. My Modern collection is abysmal... I started playing Modern because I just wanted to see what my Gladiator and Soulbound cards could do, I just wanted to play and practice with them... and it was super fun to come up with whole new different decks... but once I hit Gold, none of my Gladius or Soulbound cards were good enough, and I had to revert to a massively pared-down version of my usual decks, and I was still stomping through.

I literally barely have the summoners to play in Modern. In lower mana games, I can really only use Waka Spiritblade (Death promo summoner) and Camila Sungazer (Dragon Untamed Summoner) and that's it... but somehow I still managed to stomp through.

The weird thing is... I didn't use any more or less energy than usual. I played 342 games all up, which is not much more than usual... I just spent more time winning in Modern than losing in Wild.

Interestingly I did earn less loot chests this season... 58 EoS Loot Chests instead of 63 EoS Loot Chests (last season and also my highest ever) - but I think that was from rocketing through the leagues in Modern instead of spending all my games in Gold and Diamond in Wild. Now that both Modern and Wild will be reset to Diamond III it'll be interesting to see if that changes the amount of EoS Loot Chests I get.

An absolutely massive increase in Credit value this season... it's been 6 seasons since I've topped 30K credits. This is from a dramatic increase in potions. I got more than double what I received last season.
I also got more cards 284 (vs 256 from last season). The big difference though is that I earnt more SPS last season... so more of my Loot Chests had SPS in them when I spent all my time in the Diamond Wilds. Honestly, I'd much prefer to get cards anyway, so I see this as a huge win.

When I wrote the Season 20 report I didn't really know what was happening with Land. I wasn't sure about the difference between Land 1.0 and Land 1.5 and I thought people might be staking cards at this point... so I removed a ton of cards from the rental market ready to stake on land. Obviously this was incorrect, and I put them back on the market and I'm pleased to see this didn't really make any difference at all with my rental report. I thought it would.

Now I know that card staking won't happen until Land 1.5 comes out which I guess is likely to happen towards the end of this year.

I don't have many plots myself, and I've organized exactly what cards will work on which land. I was luckily enough to end up with a Magic Rare land, so that's really exciting.

I'm excited that the Proposal change went through that will only pay out SPS Land Rewards to surveyed land. Considering there is only 73.9% (110,861 of 150,000) that has been surveyed, that'll be an extra little boost I didn't know I was getting. So happy with that.

I'm really happy with my progress with Modern, I had a lot of fun figuring out how I was going to play with the Land expansion and I'm really just enjoying playing the game at the moment.

I am really excited for Land to be released.
I'm honestly not that excited for Rebellion to be released... because it's going to dilute my Modern Collection even further (as it will with everyone) but I just can't see myself buying many Rebellion packs at all. The resale value just hasn't really existed with Chaos Legion like it did with the previous packs, and I assume that might be the case with Rebellion too, especially if not many new players are coming into the game.

That said, Rebellion is the way the Splinterlands team makes their revenue (I'm not super sure the Splinterlands company makes really anything from the Land expansion)... so it'll be interesting to see how that all plays out.
