I understand why hiding opponent names is necessary, but still feels like a serious hit to strategic players.

Looking at someone's history and countering their meta choices is the way to beat people with better cards than you. Feel like once that's hidden, the whales really hold all advantages.

you can't make more conspicuous false arguments out of self-interest, once you have checked your profile and you can see that you are a so-called "whale" who has several accounts.....
who makes the most wintrading?
the one who has enough power for several accounts and plays tournaments with several accounts, one of which happens to be you.
write extra with your twink account, more conspicuous lies are hard to find

I don't understand. You checked my account and I'm a whale with several accounts? News to me.

Unless the plan has changed, I think they said previously that you will still be able to see the cards that your opponent played in their last few matches, you just won't see their username until after you have chosen your cards to play.

It's still super sad, I loved getting to know people of my Goat Gang guild through ranked battle. It seems like a huge blow to the social aspect of the game.
