Buying SPS
I just realized that its been months that I haven't really written a financial post! Why is that? Honestly I haven't been doing much trading lately. Most of my investments are either on auto-pilot, or someone else have been managing it. In addition, these days I am mostly focused on Passive Income, which doesn't requires me to look at charts and make trading decision on a daily basis. So bottomline, in terms of trading, I wasn't very active in the financial markets.
But, today, I was taking to Taraz, and was discussing about the potential of crypto, new people coming into crypto, and the story of BTC maximalists. If I go a bit out-of-sequence, its the story of BTC maximalists that is the most sad :) Why? Well, you have one token, you bought at the low and by sheer luck you sold at the high, that's about it. What is the fun in that?! People like me, who are in the financial market all their lives, we have done this a hundred times with hundred different financial instruments and derivatives. There is nothing special about it after you do it a few times.
A token, like SPS above, currently have the potential to rally 5X, even 10X within a year time-frame rather easily. Bring in the most bullish BTC maximalist, unless the dude is insane, no one can tell me that BTC will rally 5X-10X in 1 year time. So, to me that is the driver of alt-coins and especially VC projects like Splinterlands. I am only interested in Splinterlands, because I know most people involved in the project including the CEO and I consider the project a 'family business' and we are all part of that family. BTC doesn't have that for me.
Targets for SPS
I don't have any. I don't buy or sell VC investments based on charts. Simply because that is not the way VC works. I consider my assets to be locked for 5-10 years. After that time I might consider the investment potential. In the meantime, it would be nice, if the project provides me with some income, which Splinterlands does quite generously, I should add! So, I am getting rewarded handsomely while I wait. Also, I enjoy playing the game as a part of my daily relaxation, so its a win-win.
Currently SPS is bottoming near the Red line around 10-12 cents, that yellow line is near 60 cents. As the land launches, and the original VC investors stops getting SPS in April, there will be reduced inflation. Also there is just 169 days of SPS airdrop left. So all those folks who are getting SPS daily and selling them....well it will be over :) Then the only way one could earn SPS is buy investing SPS or some assets in some form. I am looking forward to that.

A good point on the airdrop ending. After that it is buy buy only! I might buy a little, and it really is a little compared to your stack!
Position size is relative. You can always buy however much you are comfortable with. It is just important to buy at regular intervals and especially when you think it is hovering near low.
I am a low lurker, I think it might be a speciality of mine :O)
This is the most valuable part of the post. Great insight. VCs look at things over a 6-8 year time frame from what I understand. Crazy to go against their view.

Being near Austin, TX in these days, I have participated in many VC forums. Some are even crypto, while others are various things. The barrier of entry for conventional VC is quite high for most people. Hive projects drops that bar low within reach of most middle income folks. This is to me the beauty of hive or crypto in general.

I actually just got into trading and I must say you have to keep your eyes open! You need to have notifications open and be ready to make a trade in an instant. Even though I like it, I don't know if someone can have the time to put to it...especially when working in a full time job - its hard for me anyway!

Yes, I've seen the chart, just waiting for the right time to buy. Looks like it's close to the listing price.
It's a no-brainer, I could buy more.. and yet I don't. I have SWAP.HIVE doing nothing and not working for me.
There is some kind of resistance about not putting my eggs in one basket. I know you don't correlate with this type of thinking.
I think I probably mentioned this to you that I am doing trading and investing since I was 16. While I don’t trade Japanese Yen anymore, but I have traded probably anything under the Sun. I have forgotten more things than most professional money managers ever learn. So here is my pitch:
That putting eggs in many basket thing was touted by vanguard in the late 70s and 80s. The dawn of the mutual fund industry. They sold it so well that the rest of the investment world latched on to it instantly. But think for a second, if you diversify with your $10K who is benefiting the most. The fund industry. Don’t you think there is a conflict of interest there?
Don’t get me wrong, diversification is an okay thing. But don’t over do it and always remember diversification only guarantee one thing…. Mediocrity.
If you put money into 100 different things chances of all going to zero is certainly low, but chances of all going 5X or 10X is also very very low. I hope you catch my drift.
I read about the Mutual Fund thing in 'The History of Bitcoin', a most entertaining audiobook sometime in early 2018. It sounds bloody terrible!
Before that I bought a few stocks, directly while listening to the 'spread the assets' theory. They have hardly worked out.

More SPS!
It's really hard to not be diversified in the crypto space. There's just too much going on everywhere and we've seen 20$ investments going to thousands in a year or two, especially in the NFT/Gaming corner.
I'm definitively guilty of being too spread out, my Meta Mask looks like a clown fiesta.
Very looking forward to what's coming next for it. It caught my attention that some play modes (I suspect the 'wild') will have SPS rewards as well. The Math will probably be very complicated since SPS is a capped token after all.

“Decentralized” is a strange and difficult term. I am not even sure it is that important. Without getting into that debate, it was already widely successful. It is employing 70 + people! That’s good enough for me.

It's crypto I know. So 100x from now would it even not unrealistic ( watched to dog money)
