You Rent your cards! Do it now! (stupid).......directed at myself

You Rent Your Cards, Stupid!!

There were/are a bunch of people constantly saying that I don't manage my Splinterlands deck properly! They are all correct. It's been ages that I have been struggling with my deck. I never got them properly separated. About a couple of month back with rise of rentals I have been feeling the urge to do something about it. Mostly using Peakmonsters, and various tips and cook books from my friends, who always help me more than I can absorb at a given time, I have been organizing my deck. I want to show you my rush job of poorly combining cards as a testimony (please don't be stupid like me!)

Yeah! See that? A 64 BCX Hero of Beyond! I have many others to hung on my wall of shame, but this is a good example of what NOT to do while combining multiple cards as a rush job in-game!

Anyways, that was a diversion as I explain my personal struggle to set up a rental account. I have been struggling with it for months and mostly missing out on revenue. It is not difficult, but I was just being lazy! So I finally did it today!

Human or Bot

Yes, just like anything splinterlands, there is that option. In this case, I have had multiple humans approach me to be my card rental manager for a fee. They came with some very good recommendations, and I know they do a great job. However, I sponsor multiple players with delegated playing decks, so after that, my card collection is relatively tiny. In other words, most of my cards are being used in gameplay, and I have a few cards left to rent. That means, it really won't generate much revenue to satisfy a human card rental manager.

So, the alternative ia a rental bot service. There are multiple available now. My friend @slobberchops put together a nice summary here which I heavily leaned on!

In addition, even after slow reading, when I was unsure, another friend @abh12345 helped me again for the n-th time with an even simpler steps to set up the SplinterRents discord bot, below:

TLDR

  1. Send $help to the SplinterRents bot
  2. Send $register 323776034770255874 to SplinterRents bot
  3. Grant posting authority to the account: splinterrents
  4. Send $add account name to SplinterRents bot
  5. Send $activate account name to SplinterRents bot
  6. configure settings if the default settings are not satisfying you.
Step 3 can be done in peakd

So after that I asked what the hell is that long number?

image.png

There you go folks! If you use this service please use Asher's referral number, that way, I can stay for a couple of days at his beach-front villa (soon!) LOL!

So, long story short. I did set up a new hive account (no you don't have to purchase the spellbook if you like to use it for rent only, but you do have to fight a battle!). So I did! And see, I won! I know, its a bye....I know!! But I did win.

Booyah!

As you can see, it only started, and doesn't have many cards in it. But I will see how it goes.

I have been using it for my rental account and have been happy. For my playing account, I use it early in the season when I don't play, and then self-manage the few days before the end of the season after I retire. Seems easy enough :)

My problem is I mostly forget. I am barely finding time to play. Plus with summer travels, there is even less time. Also there are massive amount of business travels coming up, where it is unlikely I will have been basic access. So I have to find some alternatives.

I need to setup a rental account too so that it doesnt mix in with my playing deck.

Oh Azircon, I know you're an absolute beast of Splinterlands account - but this made me laugh when you identified you didn't have much to rent out. Then I see $8000 worth of cards! I was having a shitty day, waiting now for an electrician to turn up to fix blown fuses with the hot water, but have jumped on HIVE and smiled now a few times. The Hero of Beyond stuffup - I've done this before too, but mine was with a Pelacor I think; might have taken it to 404 cards instead of 400. What's that, a 4 cent loss? But still, it's a way of banking card power perhaps.

Have a good one. Tim

Yeah, its all relative. Lots of OG players here have $500K plus worth of decks. I am nothing compared to them. $8K rental deck is honestly 'tiny'. But it is what it is.

I am sorry that you are having a shitty day. I expect things will get fixed soon enough and you can have a relaxed drink! Cheers!

And just like that, the day is a whole lot better. Hot water fixed, and cost about half of what I thought it would. There's a win ;)

One of these days, when Chaos Legion cards are worth 100000s of dollars, I'll join the rich list! Until then, let the grind continue!

Understandable with the minor miss management in Splinterlands when you are busy with a lot of other stuff.

Just like always, Amazing way of blogging. it was interactive to read which I am still learning. If you have some time, I wrote a blog on 21 june about splinterlands.rentals. My viewpoint was a bit bullish. I want to ask if you see auto renting as a bullish signal. Previously it was harder to get funds to buy cards/packs for me but with rent money, I can reinvest more. Nothing is as good as owning assets.

By the way, shamelessly speaking, It's my birthday! :)
Ya, I am weird I tell most people like this. Happy Birthday to me and it was my first birthday blog reading. :)

!BEER for you. Have a great day. I hope your business trips go well. !PIZZA

SPL should put something in place to stop us over-combining, its a little dumb don't you think that we can do it? It's hardly tough coding.

Yeah, it does better now when you have 1bcx cards, there is a fail safe, but the process fails on multi BCX

but this is a good example of what NOT to do while combining multiple cards as a rush job in-game!

Rushing into Splinterlands is not good. I remember selling a few golden legendary cards for a couple of hundred dollars less than their price.

I did try for a while, but gaming is not for me. I got a few random cards, can't remember where from....
