Splinterlands - Soulbound summoners enable a new use case by featuring Gladiators in your battles

With the Soulbounds cards, Splinterlands brought some nice new features along the way and one of them that I enjoy and appreciate is the fact that the new Summoners have now the ability to allow the use of one additional Gladiator card in battle. We all know that Gladiators are powerful cards and they have a low emission, thus making them quite rare compared to other editions or reward cards. Such a summoner can bring a significant advantage on the battlefield if played right.

Let's not forget that we already have Tournaments where we can use Gladiators, thus having them in regular battles simply extend their use cases and make the players be better at using them strategically. I love the concept of Gladiators through their anchor in antiquity and in the Roman wars. They were often fighting for their lives, survival, and freedom and sometimes it was combat to the death. Gladiatorial battles may have been 'entertainment' but they were savage and forceful battles only for the strong-hearted.

One thing that could be added besides enabling the use of Gladiators in regular battles, would be to add a Bonus (like for Promotion cards) for using them in battles. This way the Gladiators would be brought into the spotlight and prove their worth in the arena. And they make so good characters for lore and for building stories around them.

Gladiators could be a separate type of card and not be put together as Monsters, but some new kind of Summoners or something different. They've inspired warriors and realms with their bravery, thus they can become so much more in the gameplay and the story that Splinterlands writes. Maybe someone who's reading this will find a good idea in thinking of it.

The bottom line, the Soulbound summoners enabling the use of one additional Gladiator card in battle is quite magnificent. This is an organic development of the game, a new use case, and more fun and strategizing in the game. This is how Splinterlands continues to grow and become stronger and stronger.

Come join the amazing world from the Splinterlands!

That's quite true, Splinterlands graphics simply improve as the game grows. Imagine how it will look when everything will be in motion and animated, everything will become alive in a fantasy world.

Gladiator cards are also Soulbound so you cannot buy them from the market. Just need to participate in Guild wars, earn Merits and buy Gladiator packs from the game market.

I have a few of these cards but I only used it a few times. It just seems limiting right now when they aren't high enough level but I think people will start using them more as it gets leveled up.

Indeed, the scarcity of Gladiator cards makes them quite valuable, and also they are quite powerful. When there will be more maxed out, the enemies will be wiped out easily.

The way the team has come up with new records before and now this update is so much better, it will benefit a lot to come new users. Its graphics have also been improved a lot now.

The fact we need to build our deck from scratch by reaping ranked rewards excites me, it feels like a real game where progress is made from play rather than buying stuff (although building a deck by buying from market is fun too).

At the moment I don't play the new summoners much except in brawls as I chose lower leagues there to match the summoners I got lvled up slightly. and man they're so strong there. Especially combined with martyr or weapons training skills and cards.

That's another aspect they done right, having these exciting buff skills like bloodlust, martyr and weapons training, they make the battles more dynamic and exciting to actually watch. For me it's also a challenge to try and get as much buffs on certain staple cards as I can in one match. awesome mechanics :-)
