The benefits of bringing your friends to Splinterlands

Splinterlands is a fantasy immersive play2earn game on the Hive blockchain with a strong history since its inception I think in 2017/2018. A pioneer in this field of gaming type, it took the Steem and Hive blockchain afterwards by storm and always has been an important channel of new players and users in this ecosystem. I have joined it since its presale and must confess that I have grown quite healthy with it. Only if I was able to read the crypto market better and do some sales in the 2021 bull market, would made me rich, but nevertheless the steady revenue streams from the game are amazing. For a long time I didn't convinced any of my friends to jump into the Splinterlands game, even if I was telling them of my 6-figure sum that I could have made in 2021 bull run. But as the time has passed since than, one of my friends which is addicted to strategy games wanted to give it a try to see if he likes the game. For this purpose I have given him one of my alt accounts and let him enjoy it whenever he had the time to play. And once he started he quickly learned the roles of the NFT cards and the rule set and strategize around those. And to tell you the truth he was doing better in few days and weeks than I was doing in few years. As time went by, I discovered that by bringing my friend in Splinterlands I got a lot of benefits out of that. So let's see which those are...

Passive earnings

One deal that I made with my friend was to split 50% the earnings from the Splinterlands, whether those are in cryptocurrency like SPS or DEC or if are in the NFT cards. For the moment the Reward cards are Soulbound and cannot be sold, but hopefully in the future those will be salable and some of the rewards that he doesn't use as much in battles can be sold. While for now we are in accumulation mode and all rewards are staked or used, the future might change that if tokenomics improve and also if a bull run will hit us.

Learning and knowledge share

Until my friend came along, I must confess that I was a pretty mediocre player with doing most of the things mechanically, without too much thought in it. But while we have started discussing about the game and how he was doing, about his winning streaks I could see that there is a better way to approach battles and strategize. This way there was a lot of knowledge share between us and we both learned a lot of things that improved our battling.

Fun, joy, laughs and epic battling

One thing that we ended up doing was to do audio and video streams where we would show the screen, discuss the formation structure and enjoy seeing our thinking into battle. Epic battling, epic nights as we ended up doing this for hours during the night, while we would drink beers, talk nonsense and simply having fun and a lot of laughing. I think this is one thing that the game misses and if it would integrate an audio stream at least within it would make things much funnier.

Breaking crypto barriers

My friend is not foreign to crypto, but didn't jump into it even if he had a lot of occasions to do so. Now that he entered the crypto space through Splinterlands, his eyes seem to have got wide opened and he increased his affinity for investing in the space. Probably I will guide him to start easy by writing some articles about Splinterlands, earning some HIVE and HBD rewards and putting them at work. And I think that the 20% APR for HBD which is a stablecoin will appeal to him quite nice considering also that it is a full 100% passive earning activity.
